These are the three services I use in my photography business that allow me to run my business smoothly and efficiently. Honestly, I don’t know where I’d be with out these three services (probably lost, overwhelmed, and completely unorganized!)
This is one of the most important parts about building these doors: Be sure that the trim you apply on the outside edges of the doors will pass through the door frame. Since these doors open into the space they are in, your trim will hit the door stop (the part of the door frame that sticks out) if you do not place your trim correctly. If you use the same type of trim boards as I did, then you likely won’t even need to sand it down after it dries as the nail holes are so small, you can smooth it out perfectly right after applying it! To apply the paint, I used a paint brush to cover all the edges of the trim and then used a small paint roller for the flat areas.
It’s important to use a high quality primer before painting as it will allow the latex paint to grip on to the brick. To apply the primer, use a stiff paint brush to push the paint into the mortar and various cracks in the brick. You can use any sheen on your brick, and while a glossier finish will make cleaning your brick a little easier, a matte or semi-matte finish will look more natural for brick. If you want an even cheaper option, you can use pine boards and it would cost around $10; however, maple will give a more high end appearance and just looks nicer overall in my opinion!
