I'm so excited about my Sunnydaze Decor ceramic pot that I received to try out because it is truly beautiful! I love having herbs and other edible plants near my doorstep so I can easily get to them when I want to cook. The pot is so lovely I decided to put a blueberry bush in it. It's the perfect size at 14 inches, and I love its turquoise hexagon design. Storrier Stearns Japanese garden is a hidden gem in Old Pasadena. It was built in the 1930s by Charles and Ellamae Storrier Stearns and designed by landscape architect Kinzuchi Fujii. The garden hosts cultural and educational events, including the Pasadena Festival of Tea. There is an authentic Japanese teahouse on the property where visitors can enjoy tea ceremonies. #storrierstearnsjapanesegarden #japanesegarden #oldpasadena #pasadenagardens #losangelesbloggers #boominginla

I went to Barnsdall Park in East Hollywood and finally walked through Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House. The house is so unique that it can't be described as a specific style. The view at Barnsdall is incredible, too. It's always a fabulous place to hang out and have a picnic. @hollyhockhouse #hollyhockhouse #franklloydwright #barnsdallartpark #barnsdallpark #losangelestravelblogger #boominginla @barnsdallpark

Bigger Than Beauty Skincare is part of Thrivecausemetics based in Los Angeles. I attended a group makeover at their headquarters and was so impressed with the product. I also love that the company gives back to the community, and that's why it is Bigger Than Beauty. I hung out with Elvis last night when @memphistravel put on a pop-up replica of Graceland's Jungle Room, complete with Menphis-style food and cocktails. It will be there tonight and tomorrow. 4/4 - 4/5 Admission is free with RSVP. #elvispresley #graceland #visitmemphis #lapopup #laartsdistrict #memphisstyle #jungleroom #losangelesthingstodo #losangelestravelblogger #boominginla @colehourcohen

My daughter got married in January, and my son (on the right) got married in November. His was in Santa Cruz, California in the redwoods, and hers was in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico, at Flora Farms. I love this shot because my daughter's bouquet is strategically placed across my tummy. Flora Farms was a spectacular location, and we even had a donkey serving Coronas.đź«Ź Now I'm done with weddings. On to the next chapter. But destination weddings are cool! #mexicowedding #beautifulbride #florafarms #sanjosedelcabo #brothersisterlove

It's Spring in Arlington Gardens, a hidden and magical public space in Pasadena. Everything is blooming! #pasadenagardens #hiddengarden #springgarden #arlingtongarden #pasadenacalifornia #californialife #losangelesblogger #losangelesgarden #losangeles

It's always fun to come across a colorful group of Aztec dancers while strolling Old Town Pasadena. They were celebrating Mexica New Year and the coming of Spring. The event was held next to Vroman's Bookstore sponsored by @tepitocoffee #mexicanewyear #oldpasadena #aztecdancers #comingofspring #losangeles #indigenousdancers #azteca #mexica #losangelesblogger

Pasadena is full of spectacular gardens, and some of them are hidden like the Ambassador Mansion and Gardens. It's next to the Ambassador Auditorium and is a glorious place to walk around. I especially love the huge mansions above it that include the Merritt Mansion built in 1905, Terrace Villa Mansion built in 1924, and the Mayfair Mansion built in 1902. #visitpasadena #ambassadorgardens #ambassadorauditorium #pasadenamansions #pasadenagardens #losangelesgarden #losangelestravelblogger #boominginla

I went to #artnightpasadena last night. So much fun! I couldn't get to all the events, but all I saw were wonderful, and I got a bunch of steps in, too. @artnight_pasadena #artnight #pasadenacalifornia #parsonsnosetheater @armoryarts #cityofpasadena @pasadenaseniorcenter #losangelestravelblogger #boominginla

If you haven't been to a Candlelight Concert yet, they're really cool. This one took place at the historic Santa Monica Bay Women's Club and was a tribute to Louie Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. The lead singer was Lee Mo who was wonderful. The concerts are 60 minutes long. There are concerts in over 100 U.S. cities. #candlelightconcert @candlelight.concerts #santamonica #losangelesconcerts Read my blog post on Boominginla.com

Both of my kid's weddings took place within 3 months. Photos are trickling in but here is a quick peek. One was in San Jose Del Cabo in Baja California @florafarms and the other amid the redwoods in Santa Cruz at @waterfallsantacruz They were both fabulous and so much fun! Swipe right >>>>> I was hoping to get rid of my big tummy before they happened but it was not to be. Still working on it. UGH! Hoping to post some more pics soon! #destinationweddings #sanjosedelcabo #florafarms #waterfalllodge #santacruz #benlomand #weddingattire #beautifulbrides I found my pantsuit at Macy's and it was great because we were hiking up and down hills to get to the ceremony in Santa Cruz. My dress for Cabo was something I had that I had only worn about once and found at a store in San Diego. I love the color. Of course, both wedding gowns were gorgeous.

Prominent Women Who Influenced Los Angeles History

Since I live in Los Angeles, I wanted to feature a small fraction of the prominent women who made an impact on Los Angeles history and made it what it is today. Georgia Ann Robinson – (1879 – 1961) was the first African American woman police officer to work for the Los Angeles Police Department. In total she oversaw the construction of 7 million dollars-worth of buildings and was elected director of People’s Bank of Los Angeles in 1925. Although China City is no longer there, the Los Angeles Chinatown we still have today between Broadway and Hill Street off the 110 Freeway continues to thrive and is a tourist attraction with its authentic restaurants and festivals, and center for the Chinese community.

How to Improve Indoor Air Pollution to Boost Your Wellness

If you’re committed to improving indoor air quality, you need to take a two-tiered approach: minimizing toxins and adding air-purifying elements to your home. Unknowingly breathing in pollution can trigger chronic symptoms like headaches, fatigue, respiratory issues, and allergy symptoms. If you can take simple actions like reducing your shower time, eliminating cooking pollution, and dehumidifying properly, you’ll be in a great position to detoxify your space. Detoxifying plants include peace lilies, snake plants, spider plants, English ivy, Chinese evergreen, bamboo, and much more.
