Noah's Dad is a blog about Noah, Down syndrome, and the videos, pictures, and facts that tell our story. Check us out at http://noahsdad.com/
(Our kids like games that are interactive, like Mouse Trap, and they enjoyed interacting with all of the “parts” that go into this game.) In Drop Squad basically each player is basically dealt a certain number of cards with a number on it. For instance, our children enjoyed dropping the balls onto the board but were to young to grasp the concept of strategically placing their pieces on the board in a way that allowed them to maximize their chances of their ball going into their slot (and minimizes their opponent chances.) If your children are ready to graduate from games like Mouse Trap, I’d encourage you check out Drop Squad!
* Long Sleeve Black Tee Shirt and Pants (we actually had these at home and didn’t need to buy them.) Laffy Taffy (these aren’t required, but we suggest buying a bag while at the store to snack on while making the costume!) 🙂 Place white tape down the arms, across the top of the shirt, down the center of shirt, and down the legs of the pants. Check out this video from Laffy Taffy for some more tips to make a DYI Stick Figure Costume If so, please be sure to share some picture in the comments and don’t forget to share on Instagram with the hashtag, #HafftoLaff for a chance to be featured on Laffy Taffy’s feed!
(Fun fact: Noah actually doesn’t like candy. Noah thought his astronaut costume was awesome, but Koen wasn’t 100% sure about his rocket costume (but we thought it was super cute, and I assume that will change once we go out and about in the neighbored and he starts getting C-A-N to go with this space theme, but since they didn’t, Jaxten is rocking a skeleton outfit this year (which also glows in the dark), and he is hoping it results in lots of candy (which I assume it will!) As I mentioned above, some of the costumes you’ll find on the Pottery Barn Kids website light up, like the rockets on the back of Noah’s costume!
While we have no problem just hanging out at a nice hotel, it’s always a plus when the hotel is in a great location with easy access to good food and location attractions. Because the hotel was in such a great location you could walk out the front door and easily walk to great locations to eat breakfast / lunch / dinner (or dessert!) Their pool is located directly on Lady Bird Lake and you have access to the running trails, kayaks, and paddle boarding (which my wife did for the first time!) It’s not a big thing, but it’s one of the details that just add to the great experience.
