So, let’s talk about what is and what isn’t a blessing. God the Father loves me so much that He allowed man to torture and kill His perfect Son so that I might be able to stand before Him with no guilt and no shame. The idea of the stuff being a blessing has been such a part of our Christian talk that it seems almost sacrilege to say it ain’t so. I’m happy for Joe, but there’s a tiny voice in my head wondering why he deserved a blessing that I didn’t.
I removed all those lovely brass corner details and drawer pulls, then cleaned him up and prepped him for paint with a gray primer. Even with the dark primer, Ernest took at least four coats of paint. I don’t think it would have taken so many coats of paint if I had used my tried and true GF Milk Paint. Someone asked if the top comes off, but while this dresser is styled to look like the originals, the top doesn’t actually come off.
I painted her with General Finishes Snow White milk paint (affiliate link), then transferred the images with my Doodle Magic transfer medium. The postcards were black & white images, so I added some color to them before printing them out. After transferring the images, I added glaze to the entire thing, but wiping most of it off the postcards. This French Country end table with drawers got the treatment, but with black & white images.
