It’s one of the best DSLR cameras out there (there’s a Mark IV out now with even more features) and it just stays up in the studio on my tripod because it’s on the heavier side. The two lenses I use are the Canon 24-70mm and the Canon 70-200mm. Every now and then when I need more advanced capabilities I’ll use Adobe Premiere, but Final Cut Pro X is generally easier to use if you’re starting out. The thing that makes Finale Cut Pro X exciting to use is the plugin capability: You can download all types of plugins for color, style effects, and transitions to create a dynamic video.
I’d always wanted a library in my home, but none of the rooms would accommodate exactly the vision I had in my head (floor to ceiling books on two walls, a cognac chesterfield in the middle, black tile and mahogany bookcases, and a set of double doors leading out to a patio) so instead I turned the den into my study. It’s a combination of an office and a library, with one wall behind my desk lined with books. Another item I wanted to add to the room was an investment I’ve been wanting to make for some time now. I collect books, one of my favorite things to do is visit old book stores and find the oldest books I can get my hands on, and a lot of them have very small print so this comes in handy for magnifying the text.
But, a few weeks ago, I found myself in a gorgeous house in Malibu overlooking the ocean, getting ready to head to Cindy’s home to meet her. After I rinsed and dried my face, I applied the Youth Activating Melon Serum, which I’d tried earlier that day as well. I’d say the melon serum was probably my favorite product; Thuyen Nguyen (Cindy’s esthetician based in NYC) joined us the following day and gave each of us facials where he used the Youth Activating Melon Serum in combination with his special cupping technique… If you haven’t tried Meaningful Beauty just yet, here’s a chance to score the products: One winner will be chosen via random drawing and will receive the Meaningful Beauty collection as well as a handwritten note from Cindy Crawford.
Maria’s family hosted a traditional baby shower last weekend, but I wanted to have a gathering of just the young adults, including family and friends from college, so it was a low key backyard party. Were it not for one major mistake on my part, the flowers would have turned out absolutely perfectly: Instead of getting the blocks that absorb water to keep the flowers looking fresh, I accidentally got the ones that didn’t absorb water. So I picked up a bunch of balloon weights from the party store, only to find that they just float on top of the water and don’t sink to the bottom like I’d wanted. I also picked up a rustic wood plank that was really worn and whitewashed from Michael’s, and on it I painted Madeline’s name to add another meaningful element to the dessert table/photo area.
