this past week, this past month, and this entire year has been a wild ride. there have been endless ups and downs. nashville hasn’t caught a single break in months. we went from a massive tornado suffering tons of damage, straight into COVID lockdown, and during all of this we’re having a country wide civil rights movement happening.⁣ ⁣ i signed off IG 2 weeks ago to spend time without worry with my man before he deploys. luckily they decided to let them quarantine at home, so we’ve been able to spend some more time together, which has been nice and much needed. 6 months apart with an 8 hr time difference is hard! ⁣ ⁣ i muted myself on my page all of last week to amplify all the black voices that needed to be heard, and i took a lot away from this. i don’t think i’ve ever really taken time off to truly reflect and it was very much needed. i love doing this page and sharing my health journey, food, and wellness adventures/tips, but seemed to have lost my voice and creative juices right now. i know what I want this page to be, i just need to open up my heart and vulnerabilities to get it there. there is SOOOOO much noise on social media that it can be scary and you really don’t know who to trust. it’s a tricky space to navigate.⁣ ⁣ as far as the BLM movement goes, it troubles me and hurts my heart that anyone needs to feel less than or go through life in fear everyday. i have spent this time learning, reading, watching and having heartfelt meaningful conversations with my friends and family. this movement has opened up dialogue that would have never happened before. this is a time to empower, teach, and build each other up. i plan to continue learning and growing everyday. just because it’s not being posted on IG does NOT mean it’s not happening offline, so please be kind if you don’t see your friend posting.⁣ ⁣ as we all continue to navigate our new world, i just want to send my love to everyone who comes across this page and this post. i am going to do my best to post my content as normal while also being sensitive to the current times and sharing more of my personal life and journey rather than just quick recipes.⁣ ⁣ have a great week! xo #bewellwithbrielle

ME SAYING FU TO THE CANDIDA CLEANSE DIET ✌🏼✌🏼 *DISCLAIMER* per the recommendation of my doctor I was on this for a potential Candida overgrowth. during this I was also following a low histamine protocol and not eating foods I was potentially sensitive to for one reason or another. I don’t condone restrictive diets unless specifically prescribed by your doctor for health reasons. restrictive diets are not sustainable and do more harm than good due to overeating and binging from heavy restrictions. I received a few DM’s on how restrictive diets don’t work, so just wanted to clarify what was going on here. wellness isn’t a one size fits all. we are all unique individuals that have our own individual needs and what works for me may not work for you or the person sitting next to you. I gave the Candida cleanse a full 7 days and not one of those days did I feel good. I experienced gut issues I never experienced in my life. bloated beyond, super super gassy and burping like crazy (super cute), totally constipated, and never ever felt full no matter what I ate. I gave it a good few days thinking it was my body adjusting, but truthfully it never got better and I was OVER the discomfort. my diet was super high in fat, very low carb, and medium protein since I could only eat grass fed beef & wild caught salmon. I decided to listen to my body and call it quits. always trust your intuition, it should never steer you wrong! it was almost instantly that I felt better the second I ate everything you see in this video. since not feeling bad after eating all this gluten, dairy, and sugar I am thinking I may start introducing these foods into my diet again! in low quantities I think it will be ok! also quick shoutout to my boyfriend who drove to 5 different restaurants for pick up just because I wanted allllll the things and was very down with my choices. find you a man who lets you live your best life! 💘 have you been successful in this diet? what worked and what didn’t? going to do a full q and a style post on this cleanse very very soon! 1 BOWL HEALTHY CINNAMON “SUGAR” DONUTS 🍩⁣ ⁣ keto • low carb • dairy free • gluten free⁣ ⁣ When looking at a recipe to make I look for something that’s easy, fast, and with minimal ingredients, so there’s less to clean up and low room for error. These donuts are just that, and they’re honestly incredible. They didn’t even last a week, bc we couldn’t stop eating them & the biggest question was “wait these are healthy?!” 😂😂⁣ ⁣ Here’s what you’ll need!⁣ ✌🏼cups almond flour⁣ 1/4 tsp salt⁣ 1/2 tsp baking soda⁣ 1/4 cup oil (🥥 or 🥑)⁣ 1/4 cup @lakanto sweetener⁣ 3 eggs (room temp)⁣ 1/2 tsp cinnamon⁣ 1 tsp vanilla extract⁣ ⁣ Preheat the oven to 350 & grease your donut pans. I used coconut oil spray and it always does the trick⁣ Mix together the dry ingredients and then add in everything else and mix until combined⁣ Spoon into your donut pans and bake for 10-12 min or until you can put a toothpick in and it comes out clean⁣ Let cool for 5 min and then dip all sides in your cinnamon “sugar” mixture ⬇️⁣ ⁣ ✌🏼Tbsp @lakanto sweetener⁣ 1/2 tsp cinnamon⁣ ⁣ Store in the fridge and enjoy warm or cold. 5 things about @bewellwithbrielle⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣ I started my health journey in 2017 when I was suffering from terrible #chronichives (swipe for photos) it helped give me a creative outlet & share the things I was learning along the way. I started originally as the pink detox and felt it pigeon holed me so I created bewellwithbrielle. I took a couple hiatuses during the past couple years, but have been going strong in 2020 and don’t plan on stopping. Consistency is key and I love doing it. This page & my blog are about all the things I love in life; food/nutrition, overall health/wellness (including mental), and clean products/skincare. ⁣ 2️⃣ I love cooking and baking, but I’m not a recipe developer (yet?!) I find recipe inspiration on Pinterest and in various cookbooks then try to healthify them with better for you ingredients. Then if they’re good, I’ll share on my page. I also share recipes I see from other food bloggers on here that are already healthified! Whenever I intuitively cook or bake I never measure and always forget what I did, so can never share 😂. Trying to be better about this!!⁣ ⁣ 3️⃣ I’m currently a student @nutritionschool AKA the institute of integrative nutrition studying to be a health coach & learn holistic nutrition. Having a moment with pancakes as of late. Made @joyfilledeats low carb, keto lemon 🍋 blueberry ricotta pancakes this am and used @kitehillfoods almond ricotta and DF milk in place of dairy. Apparently I was today years old that I found out baking powder has corn starch in it?! Needless to say these are not 100% Candida compliant, but we can’t win em all. I found a corn free BP that I’ll be ordering and will use from here on out. One of the hardest things about doing this diet is the sneaky ingredients you just don’t even think about. It’s like the second I eat something that contains an ingredient that isn’t gut friendly, my stomach instantly hurts and TBH I have a stomach ache after basically every time I eat, so 🤷🏼‍♀️ Well chalk this experience up to a really good learning experience mixed with a lot of trial and error to figure out what works and what doesn’t. The Best Dairy Free Cheese Alternatives

I’ve been living a dairy free lifestyle on and off for a good part of the past 3 years, so I’ve been around the block when it comes to dairy alternatives. Just know that the ingredients in this are not good, which is why it’s so cheap, but I bake a lot, and using Miyoko’s for baking would be VERY expensive I know at your local/regional chain grocery stores they will carry the Daiya’s and So Delicious options, but they’re not very good and are way junkier than the more expensive harder to locate options. We recently bought the Daiya Mozzarella Cheese Strings to try because we love cheese strings and they were HORRIBLE.

CANDIDA FRIENDLY PANCAKES 🥞 !!!⁣ ⁣ real talk ➡️ having literally no form of sugar refined or unrefined is HARD AF. Do you know how badly I wanted to smother this stack in syrup 😭😭⁣ ⁣ Enough of my pity party tho, here are the deatz. Only 4 main ingredients and these are super filling, which is what you want during the Candida die off stage. The more full you are the less sugar and carbs you’re gonna crave IMO. Hi I’m Brielle 👋🏼 and I’m on day 1 of my Candida diet. Knowing today was the start of my elimination diet, I got a little wild over the weekend with my food choices. Ate the sugars, the dairies, the glutens. You name it, I ate it 😬 Was it the best decision? Probably not. Do I regret it? No. Was it really good? Yes. What I did feel is this .. I woke up super anxious every single day of the weekend. My mood swings were crazy. I had itchy red hives & under the skin pimples on my faces. Overall my body and I didn’t feel good, but I wanted to treat myself so I did! Now today I researched what I can and can’t eat. Made myself a grocery list and planned out my meals for the week that I’m excited about. While I can’t eat tons of things I enjoy, there are plenty of foods I like and can eat. What makes this harder is that I’m also staying away from most proteins and high histamine foods. I already felt my blood sugar go really low today and the extreme sugar/carb cravings. Dang are they strong too. I know it’ll get easier, so I’m taking it day by day hoping it’ll all be worth it. I’m most looking forward to how this will help my skin issues, moods, and mental well being. My @seed synbiotic helped mask a lot of the Candida overgrowth issues, but there were a few underlying that always seemed to stay around that I’m hoping will go away when this is over. SALTED CARAMEL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 🍪 (DF/GF/RSF) swipe for a glorious video😍😍 These were WAY to good not to share ASAP. I’ve been getting Miles into baking verrrrrry slowly with a bi-weekly easy cookie night and he’s actually great! BUY like he’s great at everything so totally not surprised. I’m the creative director and he does all the work 😜 JK but kinda LOL. I do the measuring & he does the mixing + cookie scooping. What you’ll need ⤵️ 🍪 1.5 cups 1:1 GF flour (@bobsredmill 1:1 baking flour is what we use) 🍪 1 tsp baking soda 🍪 1/2 tsp salt 🍪 1/2 cup vegan butter (1 stick of @earthbalance vegan buttery stick) 🍪 1/2 cup coconut sugar 🍪 6 tbsp @lakanto monk fruit sweetener 🍪 1 egg 🍪 1 tsp vanilla extract 🍪 1 cup DF choco chips (we used @enjoylifefoods mini semi sweet morsels) 🍪 1 bag of @jjscocomels plant based caramels. We used the plain flavor, but I bet the vanilla would be 🔥 How to make ⤵️ 1️⃣ preheat your over to 350 degrees 2️⃣ mix the dry ingredients together in a small bowl 3️⃣ beat the butter and sugar together until smoothish 4️⃣ add in 1 egg + beat until combined then add in your vanilla extract 5️⃣ slowly incorporate your dry ingredients until fully combined 6️⃣ fold in your chocolate chips then chill in the fridge for 5-10 minutes 7️⃣ take your cookie scooper or a spoon and form your cookies on a parchment lined cookie sheet 8️⃣ break your caramels in half and place one on top of each cookie and press down 9️⃣ sprinkle with coarse sea salt or @maldonsalt flaky salt 🔟 bake for 12-15 min depending on how large your cookies are Can’t wait to hear what you all think!!! #bewellwithbrielle #cookies #chocolatechipcookies #glutenanddairyfree #glutenfree #dairyfree #healthycookies #cookieporn #healthyfoodporn

HAPPY FRY-DAY 🍟🍟 Another week down in Q and to make matters worse I’m basically bedridden at this point with my upper rib pop out situation. The pain is so bad and there’s nothing I can do about it except weekly visits to the the chiropractor to pop her back in 🥴 hence me being semi MIA. My chiropractor also works as a functional medicine doctor so we’ve been playing around with muscle testing for food sensitivities sand such. Through this we found out I’m having a Candida overgrowth, body is full of histamine (super itchy skin), and I have quite a bit of food sensitivities. She recommended I need to stay away from these for the next 4-6 weeks, so my body can heal. I through the list up in my stories yesterday if you want to see. Got a few DMs going 🤯🤯🤯 On one hand I’m scared because I know this is going to mean a significant weight loss if I don’t do this properly, and on the other hand I’m excited to see if this works. SO if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for Candida diet and low histamine diet LMK. Slide into my DMs or comment below how it worked for you. Sadly potato’s were on the NO EAT list when I just started getting into this delicious oven fry groove. Sweet potatoes are still good, so I’ll be trying to crisp those up and pretend they’re just as good as regular taters 😭 Here’s my oven fry recipe thanks to my mom who made these growing up! 🍟 sliced organic yellow or gold potatoes 🍟 spray or slather in cooking oil. I’ve done olive oil & @chosenfoods garlic avocado oil spray. both worked great! 🍟 season with your desired seasonings. i like to get a little cray cray so do salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, & @traderjoes umami seasoning 🍟 bake @ 450 for 20-25 minutes Easy peasy! Serve with your classic dipping sauces. I actually eat mine plain or go for a special sauce. My BF is ketchup or bust.
