My Love for Audiobooks & Thoughts on Some I've Listened to Recently

This is the audiobook that I’ve just finished and I enjoyed it so much and couldn’t stop listening and finished it in a couple of days. Maybe I didn’t enjoy it so much because I seem to be preferring thriller-type books at the moment so this is a bit tame in comparison, and maybe it would be better to read the book rather than listening. I stayed up far too late listening to this and after it was finished I decided I was now going to listen to Catherine’s first book which I’d had for ages and hadn’t got round to listening to. Audible currently have a brilliant offer on where you can get three months for just 99p, which means that you get one audiobook for each of the three months, but because you’re subscribed it also gives you access to the daily deals which are usually £1.99, plus loads of great free Audible original podcasts and 241 sales.

Making Our Home a Healthier & Happier Place to Be

Making Our Home a Healthier & Happier Place to Be Over the last year, we have all spent so much more time in our homes due to COVID and the three lockdowns, and at the same time, we have all had to think about our health and our cleanliness much more than we ever have had to before. Hoovering reduces the amount of dust in the air which makes allergies and breathing problems worse, and surprisingly dust in our homes contains lots of chemicals, so it’s so important to get rid of as much as possible. Yes, it’s hard to make yourself do this especially in the freezing cold winter, but it’s important to let fresh air into your house regularly as well as breathing the clean air in yourself. Our homes are where we spend most of our time, especially at the moment, making it so important to look after them and making them safe and healthy places for us to be.

Things No-one Tells You About Having a Puppy!

We’ve found that Scout loves to chew on an ice cube and she also absolutely adores this dog toy I got from Amazon. However, despite the fact that we don’t have a dog that particularly malts a lot, we now find dog hairs in such random places! On that same note, having a dog, and particularly a puppy, I suspect, means that you will chat to so many more people when you are out and about, especially those who also have a dog with them. You do of course still find there are some really grumpy people who have a dog and when my dog goes up to see them

What are the Health Benefits of Tending Your Garden?

‘cardio’ in it relates to the heart, so when you think of better cardiovascular function, you know that it means gardening is, essentially, good for your heart, and if that’s not a reason to get outside and in the fresh air and start weeding, we don’t know what is. In order for your heart to benefit from the gardening you are doing, you do need to put some effort in, and you’ll have to get a little out of breath – once this happens, your heart will start beating faster and giving itself a healthy workout. Since we’re meant to exercise a little every day, if you are gardening that will count and you won’t have to do anymore as long as your heart was beating more quickly by the end. If you already have dexterity issues, just make sure you pick plants that don’t need a lot of tending – in this way, the task won’t overwhelm you, and you can still benefit from getting outside.
