▪️before & after▪️ Two things I love about this: 1. It’s blue - must I say more? 2. @kismet_house lived with the old kitchen for 3 years before renovating. I find that so refreshing — this little world of perfectly staged spaces can definitely be discouraging sometimes — like, ‘ugh — my space doesn’t look like that, there’s just no way!’ Well, lots of these spaces didn’t look like this for a long time! Budgets are real, busy hectic lives are real. A good reminder to go at your own pace and take the time to plan what would work best for you. I took all my colored couch pillows and hid them in the office yesterday and replaced them with neutrals that were scattered throughout the house. I then see a photo like this by @housebykate and am not only ready to pull them back out, but paint my walls black and go on a pillow buying spree — go all moody/eclectic 🌒 Sometimes I feel like I should have a style that’s consistent, especially on here where I’m surrounded by accounts with such a cohesive aesthetic from post to post (at first glance you can’t tell sometimes if it’s the same room)! I love that look and admire it, but I’m realizing that I need to embrace my inconsistency and own it. 👉🏻 So. My mantra for the week: here’s to owning your quirks and using them to your advantage.
