Directed by Andrew Morgan, the True Cost is an eye-opening documentary that highlights the sad truths of the fast fashion industry and the effects it has on the workers exploited, as well as the planet. Directed by Laura Gabbert and Justin Schein, No Impact Man is a documentary about an author, Colin Beavan, and his year-long project to live a life with no environmental impact with his family in New York. A Plastic Ocean, directed by journalist Craig Leeson, delves into the true depths of the ocean plastic issue, and the cycle at which plastic is broken up into smaller pieces in the sea, until it is swallowed by marine life, causing drastic environmental impact. It follows conservationist Mark Angelo to rivers in China, India, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, just to name a few, where he uncovers the true extent of the industry’s environmental effects these rivers.
But by looking past the many toxic brands that take the shape of the industry, you are able to choose a less toxic nail polish that helps to keep both your nails and body healthy and happy. ‘7 Free’ nail polish reaps all the benefits of a ‘5 free’ one, only better. Obviously nail polish cannot be void of all, however the Kester Black nail polish products are ‘10 free’ and cruelty free. Try out some of the nail polish brands above that are changing the industry through the ingredients used in their products, and how in turn that affects your nails and your body.

Frank & Dollys is probably the most vibrant and ‘fun’ ethical clothing brand which I have come across. + Roam is an ethical accessories brand that has been built upon the founder’s, Amy and Dave
A while back I came across Be Genki, an all natural holistic skincare brand that was born out of the desire to help ease anxiety, naturally. The main target with Be genki is to help ease anxiety and stress in people’s lives, naturally. The short answer: To help encourage and inspire holistic happiness by providing products with lifestyle tips that help to bring about a positive change – specifically anxiety and stress relief – in people’s lives. Whether it’s reaching for that 3rd cup of coffee during the day to get a burst of energy; tossing and turning in bed at night or relying on sleeping tablets to get to sleep; suffering from anxiety and depression, freaking out at the “little things” or losing your temper at those that you love most because you haven’t dealt with the issue appropriately; or simply “beating yourself up” and criticising yourself over something that really isn’t that big a deal in the scheme of things.
