We had a great 4th of July weekend with Matt’s parents in Bald Head Island, NC! Once you arrive to Bald Head Island all cars disappear and transportation is done via golf cart. The base layer starts with ice cream sandwiches (straight from a box! ) , then a thin layer of cool whip, sprinkle with your favorite toppings and syrups (this year it was Reese’s cups, M&Ms and caramel syrup) then spread one last layer of cool whip on top and freeze.

I’ve tried to put into words just how thankful I am for all of your feedback on last week’s survey and really don’t have the words to describe how much you all mean to me and your continued readership (many of you have been here for YEARS, and some have even been here even since the beginning)! I love how each of you have stumbled upon my blog in different ways, whether your friend, mom or grandma told you that she thought you’d like it or you came from my mastectomy or pumpkin dip pin and ended up sticking around. Everyone go tell my friend Natasha to bring back the 5! Reporting back on this new rosé by Whispering Angel that I mentioned in Instagram Stories last week! In fact, I would grab this over Whispering Angel next time I want to splurge on a nicer bottle of rosé.

Friday after work we hit the road and 1.5 hours later we arrived to Camp, checked in, swapped our truck for a golf cart and took the gravel road up the mountain to our cozy Mountain View Treetop Cabin… In addition to the incredible view that we enjoyed waking up to and watching the sun set, the cabin included AC/heating, a comfy full size bed, a twin trundle bed, a sleeper love seat (sleeps 1), TV with Netflix and a coffee maker. After getting settled in to our cabin we took our golf cart for a spin around Camp to explore all of the amenities and pick up some delicious wood oven pizzas from Creekside Cafe to eat back at our cabin. Offer excludes the following cabins: Cherry Mountain Cabin, Laurel Cove Bungalow, Laurel Cove Lodge, Luckadoo Lodge, Richland Mountain Retreat, Rippling Waters Lodge, River Birch Retreat, and Sassafras Ridge Lodge.

Her request was that it needed to be a pink cake with delicious icing and maybe even some strawberries. A recipe note on this cake, or I guess you can call it a learning experience I originally added a cup of milk to my cool whip frosting but would not recommend it. The icing consistency made it difficult to frost the cake and had more of a pudding consistency instead of a lighter whipped frosting.
