Haws® is v ery proud to announce that Melanie Mayer, our Quality and Compliance Manager was selected as the winner of this year’s “Young Safety Professional Excellence Award. Melanie is an innovative and forward-thinking individual who has cultivated a strong safety culture at Haws, and as a result of her efforts, in 2018 Haws earned SHARP status in the State of Nevada. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Occupational Health from California State University Northridge, and is pursuing a Master of Science in Industrial Hygiene from Montana Tech. She is also a Certified Safety Professional, NSC First Aid Instructor, Certified Six Sigma Green and Black Belt, and PMP. Haws heartily congratulates Melanie on her award, and thanks for her continued efforts to keep our facility a safe place to work.

Here at Haws we have conducted over 800 site surveys since the program has launched and data gathered from 800+ sites and over 11,000 units inspected, we have found that only 12% of units are ANSI Z358.1 compliant. The data also shows that 78% of units are non-compliant due to performance-related issues, meaning that the units are not working properly and are not able to deliver proper first aid.
