Senior attackman A. J. Witherell (Wilmington, Del. / Salesianum School) totaled two goals and two assists and became Washington and Lee’s all-time scoring leader, as the 18th-ranked Generals defeated Virginia Wesleyan by a score of 15-5 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse action on Wednesday evening at Birdsong Field.
Witherell set the record at the 11:28 mark of the third quarter, assisting on a goal by his brother, sophomore attackman Taylor Witherell (Wilmington, Del. / Salesianum School), which gave the Generals an 11-2 lead.
Junior midfielder Garrett Cannon (Wilmington, Del. / Salesianum) scored two goals for W&L, while Taylor Witherell had two goals and one assist.
With the win, the Generals also set a new program record for consecutive regular-season conference victories (18), a streak which dates back to the 2017 season.
