Confession time: I look forward to this time of year every year because my hubby always finds a way to make it extra special for me and it is so sweet! While gifts are nice to receive, to me, it’s not about the gifts, chocolates or flowers, it’s about the little things – spending time with love and doing something together you both enjoy. I don’t know about you, but I absolutely HATE being woken up by my or my hubby’s iPhone’s alarm. A movie night could also follow the dinner with some of my favourites being: The Notebook, Dirty Dancing, The Wedding Singer, Love
I know I’ve been posting a lot of wedding related blog posts, but I am just LOVING everything wedding related… and of course, I am still in that “honeymoon” phase! I thought I’d go in a different direction today and get a little personal by sharing 4 things that have happened since I got married 4 months ago. We’ve visited our house a couple times and IT’S GETTING THERE AND WE’RE HOWEVER, as one of my New Years’ goals, I decided I would push myself to try 2-4 different recipes a month and so far, it’s going pretty well if I do say so myself!
Popular opinions and/or “traditions” may lead you to think otherwise, but there isn’t a right or wrong decision to be made regarding whether or not you should do a first look – it is completely up to the bride and groom! I had many reasons why I wanted to have a first look… To help calm my nerves… your wedding brings out so many emotions and it can be very overwhelming, especially since you may not see and/or talk to your significant other until you’re about to say “ and/or late because of wedding photos… and knowing me and my obsession with taking 253940473 photos, we were definitely going to be late! Contrary to popular belief (and the many opinions I received prior to the day), a first look does not ruin the “down the aisle” reactions – if anything, it was even better and we’re both glad we weren’t a blubbery mess!
You may be ready to leave 2018 goodbye, but this past year will forever hold a special place in my heart that Matt and I officially became husband and wife. This is one of my annual posts that I have been posting for the last few years, so if you are interested in checking out my 2015, 2016 and 2017 posts, here they are: 2017 in Seventeen 2016 in Sixteen 2015 in Fifteen From wedding planning to spending every second I could by the pool, to having two bachelorette parties, celebrating birthdays (including my own), getting married, going on my honeymoon and spending my first Christmas as a married woman and everything else in between… Another year has come and gone… one I will never forget and always cherish! and I wish you nothing but all the love, happiness and health in this upcoming year! XOXO
