2019 is the year that I’m taking my Croatia travel tips beyond my blog. Yep, it’s time that I don’t just tell you; I SHOW you
The Picnic is dedicated to supporting local businesses thrive here, and as one of the most popular food truck parks in Austin, they do a good job! A short walk away from Rainy Creek Food Park, but an absolute must while in Austin! Considered the “food truck paradise” of the East Side of Austin, the food truck park at 5000 Burnet is full of comfort food and flavors from around the globe. Here is a list of current vendors: Wat Zab Thai Food: Named 2nd best Thai food in Austin. Here are the vendors you’ll find here: Austin is absolutely one of the best cities for foodies, and the thriving food truck industry has become an integral part of the local culture.
One of the most popular boutiques along South Congress Ave, creatures boutique is a women’s clothing store carrying a variety of local and independent brands. It’s definitely a spot to visit if you’re looking for a new outfit while visiting Austin. Right off of South Congress Ave on Milton Ave, you’ll stumble into this quant vintage clothing shop in the heart of South Congress. Across from here you’ll find Amy’s Ice Cream, one of the most popular local ice cream chains in Austin. Right next to Amy’s Ice cream, you’ll also find Burro Cheese Kitchen, which specializes in any type of grilled cheese sandwich you can imagine.
I can confidentially say that Austin has some of the best shops for statement vintage pieces, artisanal designs, and reasonably priced local boutiques. I was actually quite impressed with the quality of many pieces, such as the linen green wrap dress I bought here in the photo above. I have to admit I was disappointed to hear that this once Indie is now owned by Walmart (kind of ruins the entire small, local feel of the brand). You’ll find a variety of real leather jackets from the 80s, to vintage Sex Pistols and Pink Floyd concert tees, to this cute floral romper from the 70s I snagged for $15!
