Here are a few including Mishu in China, Pumba + Timon alongside the African Outpost, Alladin’s bestie Abu in Morocco and my favorite furry friends Marie, Berlioz and Toulouse in the France Pavilion. This one is not just a special Disney memory but also very personal as my boyfriend’s mom actually worked at the Carousel of Progress while it was at the World’s Fair before Walt Disney moved it to Walt Disney World. Our two favorite booths were The Deconstructed Dish with the below Deconstructed BLT with crispy pork belly and the Deconstructed Reuben and the L’art du Cuisine Francaise which featured the Creme de Brie en Petit Pain and Mouelleux Aux Chocolats Valrhona. There are still so many festival features that I didn’t cover in this post such as as the fun photo ops around the park and Figment Scavenger Hunt in World Showcase.
As you may have seen from my INSTAGRAM, I have getting ready for the annual celebration in my French neighborhood in Brooklyn hosted by RICARD and BAR TABAC. In addition to drinks and pétanque, you’ll also find fun freebies and giveaways to enter, including a trip to Provence courtesy of Air Canada ROUGE and the Provence Tourism Board! The crowds start rolling in usually around noon but with the World Cup finals starting at 11am I suggest arriving around 9am if you’d like to try and get a seat to watch the game. Due to the World Cup Finals, Bar Tabac has changed the start time for the pétanque tournament this year and it will now begin at 1pm.
You won’t want to hop on your next flight to Paris without a copy of PARIS IN STRIDE, a new walking guide full of colorful watercolors showcasing the Paris that I love. Francophile illustrator and co-author of this stylish new book, Jessie Kanelos Weiner, has one of my favorite accounts on Instagram. When I first heard she was working on a book, I was SO excited and new it would be a great addition to my book shelf. One look at this petit guide (that fits perfectly into just about any bag or purse), will entice you to book your flight and when in Paris, will help guide you to Jessie and her co-author’s favorite hidden gems, magical gardens and more.
What’s not to love about visiting magical lands, going on an African Safari, wine tastings around the world, Mickey shaped ice cream and hugs from your favorite movie characters? It’s my favorite time of year at EPCOT, the Flower + Garden Festival where you will find the prettiest topiaries and have endless tasty options for savory and sweet treats all over the park. They also have an amazing special tour where for just $30 you can go behind the scenes to learn about the elephants living at the park and all of the amazing things the Disney Conservation Fund is doing to help prevent these beautiful animals from being extinct. Stay tuned as I’ll be sharing daily highlights from our trip and review of some of the special experiences and tours we’ve booked, including the Royal Tea Garden Tour and Day Cruise Around the World which I am SO EXCITED about!
