Since I completed my interiors course back in December, I have felt much more confident making decisions regarding the house and it’s also made me a little bolder and prepared to take a few more interior related risks! We went for a navy kitchen from Howdens and white matt quartz worktops (I really don’t like shinny ones! ). The wonderful Lizzie Churchill came and took some more photos of the house as it has changed quite a bit in the last few months. Some recent photos captured by Lizzie of the house Dresser below painted in Farrow and Ball’s Cornforth white.
Figi ended the season on a real high with a very successful show at Arena UK festival in September, jumping double clears and qualifying for the 6 year old Grand Prix and the Foxhunter Grand Prix. The surgery definitely took more of a toll on me than I thought it would, and it wasn’t an easy time. Adam and the team have done such a great job looking after Figi and it has been a pleasure to watch, but I’m glad its my turn again now as watching is definitely not my thing. I have always struggled finding a saddle to fit me properly as I am so long in the leg, so I had Voltaire Design come out and measure me up for saddle.
Sadly, a number of horse owners would rather sell on, or dispose of their old friend once they enter their twilight years, rather than seeing them through to the end of their life. What’s most concerning about this is that often old horses and ponies will end up in awful places, such as the slaughterhouse or even worse – part of the illegal trafficking trade that still happens today, whereby live horses are transported across Europe and the continent to be delivered ‘fresh’ for human consumption, to markets which have a high demand for horsemeat. Of course, not everyone is fortunate enough to have the money/space etc to be able to keep their old friend, but if you buy a horse you should always take responsibility for their welfare and place them somewhere where they are going to be well cared for. If need to re-home a horse and you have exhausted all avenues, try the following charities: 1,000 of horses are slaughtered in the UK for their meat or neglected – don’t let your old best friend be one of them!
She recommended I contact ‘ a back person’ as we call them and instantly I thought it was the perfect opportunity to give SJC Therapies (Sam) a call, which is even more convenient now that she is living back in Cornwall. Sam was really informative when she was assessing Jiggy and talked about all the muscles groups, joints and areas she was working on and where she thought the source of Jiggy’s stiffness was (I wish I could give you a more detailed technical account of what Sam was doing Improve circulation ~ Improve gait quality ~ Improve range of motion ~ Improve muscle development and muscle tone ~ Aids the removal of toxins ~ Improve and maintain flexibility and tissue elasticity ~ Help prevent injury ~ Reduce strain on tendons and ligaments ~ Relieve areas of soreness, tension and discomfort ~ Aid rehabilitation post injury ~ Promote relaxation For those interested in Sam’s services – you can get in touch with her via her Facebook page –www.facebook.com/sjctherapies or follow her on Instagram – @sjctherapies.
