Can Travel Will Travel follows us [Tanya and Andy Korteling] as we travel, live and work abroad after leaving the UK in 2016. Our journey involves stints of travelling, followed by longer stretches living and working in one place. These experiences are documented via written articles and photos.

Covering both couple travel and female solo travel we focus on natural and cultural highlights, must-do activities, and also anything 'off the beaten track' that visitors don't normally do. We are also extremely interested in ethical wildlife encounters and conservation and always endeavour to travel responsibly. Hotels, food and restaurants also feature regularly in our work.

The aim of Can Travel Will Travel is to inspire and encourage others to follow their dreams, to visit new places and immerse themselves in new cultures, sample new foods, experience new activities, and to undertake new challenges.

The blog is a trusted resource for our target audience and I pride myself on always providing frank and honest reviews of destinations we visit and live in, and the experiences we have whilst there.

12 Great Things to Do in Chania, Crete

Things to Do in Chania, Crete Located in a gorgeous coastal location in west Crete, Chania city has to be one of the most beautiful cities in Greece. If you’re into your food and want a great introduction to Chania, one of the first things you should do in Chania is go on a A Taste of Crete walking tour with Gabi from The Tiny Book Gabi kindly invited us to join this tour on our very last day in Chania. We couldn’t fault this food tour, Gabi had such in-depth knowledge of Crete’s food and history. These include: Kastelli – the central district of Chania old town, is at the top of the hill overlooking the mosque and the old harbour.

The Best Sicily Hike and Bike Tour from Catania

I was fortunate enough to be invited Etna Bike Tours and Sicily by Nature to join them on a 2-day Sicily hike and bike tour from Catania. I, along with my TBEX Survivor pals, and fun, knowledgable, experienced guides (Maurizio, Úna and Jo from Etna Bike Tours and Vincenzo from Sicily by Nature) took part in a 2-day version of the 6-day ‘South Sicily Hike and Bike Tour Day one of our Sicily Hike and Bike Tour was dedicated to hiking in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Pantalica Nature Reserve and along the Val d’Anapo (Anapo Valley). Day two of our Sicily Hike and Bike Tour was dedicated to a scenic 69 km bike ride along a route that would take us through Palazzolo Acreide and Noto (two UNESCO World Heritage towns), to end up at Vendicare Nature Reserve to for some wild flamingo spotting Following our reasonably early (yet slightly inebriated) night, we woke earlyish next day to admire the early morning views.

A Relaxed 3-Day Bangkok Itinerary

It’s the perfect destination for anyone wanting to dive in the deep end of A 3-day Bangkok itinerary gives enough time to see many of the highlights, although it would be easy to stay much longer Small stalls selling street food to knick-knacks and hand made goods crowd most streets in Bangkok. The Reclining Buddha is also located within the ground of Wat Pho but deserves it’s own section in this itinerary. ’s time to see Wat Arun, my favourite Bangkok temple, and visit the iconic but touristy Khaosan Road. Getting around Bangkok is super simple; if you can’t drive and it’s too far to walk you take either Sky train or subway.
