6 Keys to Thriving in the Hard Seasons

Seeing the Gifts of God in Every Day Life: an invitation to lopsided living 6 Keys to Thriving in the Hard Seasons Hard seasons come for all of us. Put your hope in God, for I will still praise him, my Savior and my God. Sometimes, the hardest part of these seasons is admitting to ourselves that we are struggling, that we wonder what God is doing, and even if He’s still good. Put your hope in God, for I will still praise him, my Savior and my God.

What I’m Reading {April 2019}

I’m using my ESV Illustrated Scripture Journal and my ESV Journaling New Testament, Inductive Edition as I read. ESV Study Bible, CSB Study Bible, and NLT Illustrated Study Bible { My Utmost for His Highest || Streams in the Desert || April Prayer Calendar || The Art of Amen || Shiny Things ||

What Happens When We Really Encounter God’s Word

I’m excited to share today’s post with you because it’s something I feel so passionate about — engaging with Scripture! { It’s why I teach … because I want other women to encounter Scripture the way I did in 1994 and be willing to continue to engage with it as I have been. The more time we spend in the Bible, the more we delight in knowing God through His Word, the more we will long for more of Him and more time in His Word. And FYI, the value of multi-generational Bible study among women is what I’ll be teaching about during the Enjoy God’s Word conference.

When Prayer Goes Deep

But here’s what I’m finding, the older I get — our spiritual life is only as strong as our prayer life. Because prayer is all about two things: acknowledging God’s glory and recognizing my need So often we forget that prayer is always primarily focused on God. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, ut if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. We realize the sovereignty of God as we worship Him which should lead us to a place of humble submission to His work and will in our own lives.
