I grew up competing in beauty pageants, or beauty reviews (as we called them when I was little), and I enjoyed them too. It was fun for me to get dressed up, put on makeup, and get my hair styled
It’s the kind of relationship that doesn’t inspire you to grow as a person, but actually makes you feel less. It’s the kind of awful influence on your life that hurts you in the long run. Being ruled by fear wasn’t simply a lack of faith, like I had assumed. It’s like finally being able to defy the stuff that tried to overtake you in this life.
We were exhausted, but as I spread a beach towel on the ground, with some snacks and cold water, I watched my first daughter play, and I realized I felt blessed. I mean, you won’t be able to find His favor if you don’t understand what it is. And yeah, I guess following God’s principles does help your stewardship of cash flow, but even then, less worry about bills isn’t the epitome of God’s favor. God’s favor in your life is having His heart for matters, His eyes to see, and His voice to guide you.
