Rum Day DC is an annual celebration in its sixth year which affords a mix of the rum industry’s specialty and top brands, consumers, the rum-curious and enthusiasts alike. The 6th Annual Rum Day DC will host two block parties for the 2017 Celebration, one in Baltimore on Saturday, August 12th from 2-7pm and Washington, DC on Sunday, August 13th from 2-7pm. Once again, this year we’ve partnered with the United States Bartenders Guild (DC and Baltimore) to mix up magic featuring our Rum partners so our lineup of cocktails and punches will be epic thanks to mixologists such as Glendon Hartley for Service Bar, Al Thompson from Bar Mini and Aaron Joseph from R House Baltimore. #RumDayDC About Rum Day DC: Rum Day DC following the success of the National Rum Day celebrations in the nation’s capital.
I wore red, ate somewhere that supported the movement, and donated some clothing for a great cause. Italian donated 10-percent of sales in the market to Running Start, an organization that supports young women entering politics. Lots of men in very nice suits and sprinkles of women in red there probably for the same reason as me. The dish was also $19 which was a major splurge for me but all in the name of greater good, I did it.
My favorite of two of these was the ceviche which contained red snapper, leche de tiger, sweet potato, red onion, and cilantro. We choose the Ají de Gallina, chicken stew, and the Aeropuerto, basically a fried rice. The Ají de Gallina contained Ají amarillo chicken stew, fresh cheese, pecan, and rice. This dish is apparently Peru’s most precious dish.
I decided to attend this restaurant with a friend of mine and when we walked into the dining area, I was blown away by the ambiance, yet again. We took a look at the regular menu just to see what other options they had to offer, but the restaurant week menu was too good to be true. We both decided to get different options but, I, unfortunately, couldn’t try any of hers because I don’t eat red meat, but it looked amazing. I don’t eat red meat, so I, unfortunately, wasn’t able to try my friend’s dish, but mine was well seasoned and tasty.
