Love a good equal part cocktail – clean, simple and easy to make! This drink is a great nightcap with its sweet and savory flavors, like a comforting dessert with a boozy blanket to warm you up. A riff on a Boulevardier, it uses Glyph whiskey with its sweet vanilla and spice notes and blends in more herbs and spice, all wrapped around a chocolate banana center. - I was excited to try Glyph whiskey as they are bringing a novel concept to the spirits world – building a whiskey from its base compounds! To make Glyph, they source these molecules directly from plants and yeasts, rather than obtaining them through distilling and aging. This allows them to develop a spirit with a unique flavor profile. - Cheers y'all! - 1oz @glyphwhiskey Whiskey 1oz cacao nib infused @drinkgalliano Apertivo 1oz banana infused sweet vermouth blend - Combine all ingredients in a glass. Add ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass with a large ice cube. - Also if interested in Glyph solo, here are some tasting notes: The nose has aromas of vanilla, nut, and a bit of honey. The medium-bodied palate reveals a wider spectrum of wood and spice. A hint of black fruit pokes its way through, but the whiskey ends with a firm and earthy finish. - Follow and check out the link in my profile for more recipes on the blog! - #cocktail #cocktails #whiskey #amaro #vermouth #banana #chocolate #sponsored
Been a fan of Seven Stills for a few years now, so it was awesome to check out one of their new outposts at Stanford Court! They are growing fresh herbs and produce on the roof and even keeping their own bees for harvesting honey that is used in the drinks! - This was a solid sip incorporating all those things; honeydew whiskey, rosemary honey, grapefruit (think this was bought lol), and Angostura. - Cheers to the weekend! - #cocktail #honey #whiskey #grapefruit
It's spring and mint is going wildddd! This drink is about keeping it clean and fresh as we prep for more days out in the sun. Taking inspiration from the highballs I had in Tokyo and that Kentucky Derby signature, the Mint Julep. - Chilly, subtle, herbal sweetness; love the grassy matcha blending with whiskey and mint. Cheers! - 1/2 barspoon Matcha Powder 2 oz @suntorywhisky Toki 1/2 oz Mint Simple Syrup Club Soda - Put matcha powder in mixing glass and slowly incorporate whiskey. Once the powder is fairly well combined add mint syrup. Add ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves. - Follow and check out the link in my profile for more recipes on the blog! - #cocktail #cocktails #japanese #whiskey #matcha #mint
Smoke, earth, primal, playing with some more savory flavors here. A sipper with subtly and depth, let it meld and do it's thing. Embracing the pepper and salinity with a bit of sweetness and earthy notes. - Cheers y'all! - 1 oz green peppercorn infused anejo tequila ( @tequilacazadores ) 1 oz Mezcal Joven Espadin 1 1/4 oz @lofiaperitifs Sweet Vermouth 2 dashes @scrappysbitters grapefruit bitters - Combine all ingredients in a glass. Add ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass with a large ice cube. - Into this earth/ground/deep feeling drink. A nice rush at the front that has a sweet terroir character with a short peppery finish. - Follow and check out the link in my profile for more recipes on the blog! - #cocktail #cocktails #mezcal #tequila #vermouth #bitters
Back to basics: spirit, sugar, bitters, and water. - It's nice to make a classic like the Old Fashioned after a long time of not having one. The familiar ratio that can spawn so many variations. The simplicity to let its ingredients shine. Been drinking quite a bit of whiskey straight lately so this seemed like the obvious choice to manipulate some of those tasty juices. - I'm someone that goes for rye more often for an Old Fashioned but for this, I stuck with a bourbon, although one that brings plenty of spicy oak notes, David Nicholson Reserve. The bottle may put some people off but I really enjoy the Reserve and it has a decent price, picked mine up for ~$32. Paired with some chicory pecan bitters for hints of sweet nut and spicy wood only reinforces the- bourbons strengths. - 2 oz David Nicholson Reserve Bourbon 1 sugar cube 2-3 dashes @elguapobitters Chicory Pecan Bitters Soda Water Orange peel - In a rocks glass muddle the sugar cube and bitters. Add orange peel and quickly muddle to release some oil. Next add a splash of soda water to fully dissolve the sugar. Pour in whiskey and place large ice cube into glass, gently stirring to combine but not overly agitate soda water. Once chilled enjoy! - Follow and check out the link in my profile for more recipes on the blog! - #cocktail #cocktails #oldfashioned #whiskey #bourbon
Simple cocktails are my typical go to when I'm making drinks for myself. Found this two-ingredient recipe from Bar Clacson in LA and it has quickly become a standard for me lately. - I chose a mezcal with flavors of baked spices and subtle fruit sweetness and obviously some smoke. Meletti adds rich caramel flavor with some chocolate, and anise flavors in there also. I keep an extra bottle of Meletti around because of this drink, that is how much I love it. Orange bitters bring some some bright citrus notes that pair great with the Meletti. - Simple recipe, complex flavors, hope you enjoy, Cheers! - 1 oz @mezcalalipus San Andres 1 oz @meletti_official 2 drops Orange Bitters - Combine all ingredients in a glass. Add ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a chilled rocks glass with a large ice cube. - Alternate: This could also be built straight in the glass 👌 - Follow and check out the link in my profile for more recipes on the blog! - #cocktail #cocktails #mezcal #amaro #orange #bitters
Came up with the Corona Heights after looking for something a little stiff after this weekend, so grabbed the fernet and built a drink out around it. Spirit forward with a strong dose of bourbon and some herbal bite from the Fernet. Sweet Vermouth and Cointreau help smooth all that out into a drink perfect for winding down the weekend. Whoa #tbt , been a minute since I've posted. Too many distractions but hopefully getting back to mixing up some new drinks! - Coming back with everyone's (or maybe just mine :P) favorite spirit cachaça! And the quintessential cachaça drink is the caipirinha. This is a bit of a riff on that classic, a drink that's basic recipe is incredibly simple and a great base to play with. - The recipe brings layers in a few other flavors. Comes out kind of reminding me of Thai cuisine, balancing the fruity sweetness, pepper spice, and the brightness from citrus. - These can be pretty potent so have fun! Cheers - 1 1/2 oz Lemongrass-infused Cachaça 3/4 oz @purelydrinks Pineapple Thai Chili Shrub 3/4 oz Lime Juice 3/4 oz Simple Syrup 6 Mint Leaves 1 Ginger Dime - Add mint and ginger to shaker, give a quick muddle. Add rest of the ingredients to the shaker. Add ice and shake for ~15 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass with ice. Enjoy! - Follow and check out the link in my profile for more recipes on the blog! - #pineapple #lemongrass #cachaca #chili #spicy #mint #ginger #thai #cocktail

This drink at first glance may be confused with a Tequila Sunrise because of its classic gradient from orange to red, stirring up feelings of warm beach days and fruity chilled drinks, but this cocktail is a reflection of the changing season and the many colors it produces. - A bit of a riff on the aforementioned Tequila Sunrise, the orange juice remains but is incorporated into a bit of a heartier drink for the cooler weather. The cranberry shrub was made with a higher sugar content to balance out the natural tart flavor coming from the cranberries. - Orange and cranberry was a favorite mix of my grandpa, perfect inspiration for this cocktail with all the family gatherings happening this time of year. - 1 1/2 oz @bulleit Bourbon 3/4 oz fresh Orange Juice 1/2 oz @amaromonte 1/2 oz @cinzano.official Dry Vermouth Cranberry Shrub - Add all ingredients (except shrub) to a shaker. Add ice and shake for ~15 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass with ice. Float the shrub and enjoy! - Follow and check out the link in my profile for more recipes on the blog! - #cranberry #orange #bourbon #fall
Just one of my favorite uses for tonic water outside of a G&T, the Espresso and Tonic. a coffee mocktail that laces our favorite bubbly quinine beverage with the caffeinated boost of espresso. The bright and citrusy flavors of quinine make a great pairing with the brightness and floral notes of espresso. Added some lemon bitters to amp up that crisp citrus zest.
Love seeing more vegetables being used in drinks at bars so showing off one of mine today with this Carrot Ginger Fizz. A great vegetable to work with, bringing both bright and a bit of savory quality to drinks. This cocktail brings a base of cachaca, pairing the earthy notes of both. Ginger and honey help round out the drink with a subtle floral sweetness and spicy bite from the ginger topped it with club soda to add a more effervescent finish to the drink.
