CMA’s 2017: Best Dressed

a night that our southern charmers look forward to all year, and one those people who aren’t into country music get equally as excited about. It seemed to be a night full of red, white and blue [and velvet!]. Pride we wouldn’t expect any less of from our favorite country folks! While they sported our nations colors proudly in their clothing, they definitely left their normal southern duds at home. I rounded up my best dressed list for you; including my best dressed guy, couple and country music veteran.

Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round…ME

I have to thank Maui Jim for sending these beauties (below) in particular, since they not only help shield my eyes from the brightness, but they make a great fashion statement too. We of course know the damages the sun can cause to our skin, and take action to protect that, but we should be doing the same for our eyes. While my camel items are Kate Spade, I found those whimsical bows at a fraction of the price. Clearly I don’t shy away from color, and I think even with a bold color, you can be bold with your accessories.

Easy Bake Oven – Grown Up Edition

You need time, lots of ingredients, money for all of those ingredients (which you will maybe only use once) and lots of patience. Since having to go gluten free several years ago, I have learned that baking without wheat is even more of a headache, and so expensive. I followed the nicely laid out steps on the back of the box, used only two bowls (very light cleanup) and had amazing cheesecake brownies in my mouth within an hour. And to quote a few of my girlfriends, “they don’t taste like they are gluten free at all.”

Dining Decor: Zingy ZigZag

Last month, I showed you an elegant floral table setting, but this month, as we are in full swing of summer, I decided to put some pep into my table step. Stripes and chevron (zigzag) are a great way to incorporate a bold pattern in a big way. Add a muted colored napkin, with a punchy napkin ring that has texture and movement, plus festive glassware (summer should be all about  fun drinks won’t be worried about what you are serving them when it comes with such a zingy table as a backdrop; so, since it’s summer, serve with a simple dish, a fruity cocktail, and enjoy!
