January's never been my favorite month of the year, but it's certainly nice to have an excuse to start fresh and get back into a better routine with health, life, work and hobbies. Of course, would it be a new year's goals post without some mention of health goals? For an example of a specific goal, I want to run another 5K this year, but make better time (last year's was 34 minutes, I'd like to hit 30 minutes if I can! ). I'm currently prepping / calculating logistics still, but there's going to be a new branch of the website coming some time this spring, and I'm so excited.
A couple of weeks ago when I shared my college dorm room shopping list , sharing all the essentials I'm packing for college this fall, I promised a more specific look into the type of food I'd be bringing to school as well. One of the biggest tips I've gotten from my college-experienced chums is to bring a little stash of non-perishable snacks, for your dorm room
To be fair, however, I know many of you are also shopping for your college dorms, and an exhaustive list might come in handy, if for nothing more than reminding you of one or two things that are easy to forget. Snack Stash (all my currently-in-college friends say this is their biggest tip; having snacks on hand means you don't have to run to the grocery store if you miss dining hall hours or are up late studying and need a snack to keep going! Feminine hygiene products (I would recommend stashing up at the beginning of the semester, because if you're anything like me, you'll forget until the last minute, and depending on where you go to school, a drugstore may or may not be a 20 minute drive away...) Good backpack (this is the one I bought) School Supplies (amidst all the dorm room essentials, you'd be surprised how easy it is to forget about the most important things! )
