Now that summer is all but a distant dream and we’re hurtling into 2019 full speed, I wanted to share some holiday snaps from my whistle-stop trip to Ibiza with Huawei. The main purpose of the trip was to discover the Huawei P20 Pro Twilight, and really get to grips with the camera – hardly the most arduous task with such a beautiful island as your backdrop. Boasting a three-lens system – co-engineered with Leica, no less – as well as impressive low light performance and scene detection that finds the best options for snapping photos of food, sunsets, greenery and beyond Thanks again to Huawei for having me on the trip – and of course, to you lovely lot, for sticking around and making these memories possible in the first place.
I also discovered that I’m a big fan of the Copper House Dry Gin.. a very pleasant surprise for someone who doesn’t drink much at all! The spread was divine – open sandwiches and whole host of sweet treats, from fresh scones with clotted cream and jam (my favourite! ) and miniature doughnuts, to chocolate brownies, to teeny weeny fruit tarts. We had dinner both nights in the Still Room, the main dining space in the hotel (there’s also the Tap Room – great for a nightcap). The space is stunning and has the food to match (highly recommend the duck confit and the cod – but if beef wellington is on the menu, don’t miss it! ).
– I still write from the very same bedroom (although it’s home to plants and a desk and bedding with a higher thread count these days), but I don’t know if I’ll ever feel like an adult. It’s not even something that I feel antsy about, it’s just not happened to me yet and I’m cool with that. My mum was pregnant with me at 27, which makes me feel slightly sick because although life was so different back then, I’m nowhere near ready to look after a child anytime soon – at times I feel like I can barely look after myself. Maybe I’ll never feel like a proper adult, and perhaps that’s okay.
Amsterdam has to be one of our favourite cities after having visited together a year ago, so we decided a return was in order before summer was an all but distant memory! Everyone is so friendly, the food is great, prices are basically the same as in London, flights are cheap – We filled our suitcases with jumpers and jackets, but the few days we had were actually pretty warm, which made for a nice surprise (although a somewhat sweaty one at that). Conveniently located just a five minute walk away from Dam Square (and the building itself having previously been home to the Mayor, no less), it was the perfect base for exploring the city.
