Mesa Verde National Park (4 hours) COVID-19 UPDATE: Even though the Mesa Verde Visitor and Research Center is currently closed, it is still worth stopping by. Mesa Verde is a bit different than most National Parks in the sense that there is a great emphasis on the anthropological aspects of the people who once lived and migrated to the region in addition to the natural beauty of the place. Since we arrived in the early afternoon on a Friday during the off-season, we were able to book day-of tickets for Cliff Palace and we snagged the first tour for Long House the following day without any problem. A bit further off, in the Wetherill Mesa, the Long House Tour requires a short walk to the cliff, where you walk down a moderately steep staircase to the site.
Union Station farmers market is the only grower’s only market in Denver and now the BCFM will sell local produce and goods all year round! I’ve been steadily ordering Altamira Doorstep, a local company serving the Denver area that started a home delivery service in the spring of 2020. I immediately fell for their delicious, hefty lobster rolls that have a great deal of meat (New England- or Connecticut-style, pick your poison) alongside their absolutely killer sides like their ooey-gooey Lobster Mac ‘n’ Cheese. Somewhat hidden on Steuben’s wide menu of American regional classics, squeezed in between the Bodega Breakfast Sandwich and the Grilled Cheese you will find their two market-priced Lobster Roll offerings (Maine or Connecticut).
I’m not sure if it’s the elevation or the fact that our home is generally very warm, but usually my first rise time is much shorter than the 12-18 hours, and our fridge seems to be way too cold to get the 24 hour method to produce any rise.
