Why knit at home, when I can knit anywhere!
I’m Amanda. Young in age, old at heart, and adventurous by nature. I like to travel with balance. I happily take in the most popular sights, while also working in local favourites and secrets.
They give the option of their award-winning large boat tour, or a smaller, more personal boat tour. This boat tour is located in Mobile, about 10 minutes past Bay Bulls and 40 minutes outside of St. John’s. They offer two different tours: a 2.5-hour standard tour and a 2-hour zodiac tour. If you’re taking a boat tour, there are some that don’t require you to put on a life jacket (though they do have them on board, of course.)
That’s why I can’t wait to read Karen Silver’s new book, Come On We Goes is an anthology of children’s stories, written by Newfoundland author Karen Silver. The two stories in the anthology’s first volume are simple and delightful, written to educate kids while offering a better understanding of things that make Newfoundland unique. The drawings themselves are simple ink, but they become elaborate using items such as coloured and patterned paper, washi tape frames, and rhinestone details.
So when Alt Hotel opened their newest location in central downtown St. John’s, I knew I had to check it out. Perched on the corner of Water Street and Prescott Street, Alt Hotel is a perfect spot for experiencing the best that St. John’s has to offer. Alt Hotel is perfectly located for anyone who is looking to experience local St. John’s shopping, restaurants, and culture. It’s within an arm’s reach of pretty much everything you want in a downtown St. John’s stay, and if you can’t walk there, they’ll help you find a way.
It’s easy to find an authentic local restaurant where, quite frankly, they couldn’t care less if you’re a tourist. That’s why when I plan my trips, I use this rule: plan one major thing each day. If you’re feeling adventurous and want to do both on the same day, that’s great! My best asset for travelling as an introvert is having a way to center yourself when you feel in over your head.
