This year, to dress up for the holidays, I made really good use of my evergreen wardrobe staples, like my metallic skirt and animal prints. If you have a flair for the dramatic you might like this show-stopping blue metallic skirt. For family gatherings I’ve been styling my metallic skirts with chunky oversized knits like this sweater or for dinner out This is a great time to build up your winter wardrobe as well since in the retail world the attention is already shifting to next season and winter items are being heavily marked down.
It looks good and keeps you warm so that’s a win. This textured one with high neck and this lady-like top/skirt sweater dress combo which is absolute genius because it’s so effortless. A good houndstooth coat is one of my favorites because it has graphic impact while also being a neutral. WordPress (which is the program I use for this blog) has changed things up and since I’m really bad with technical stuff it’s taking me a few minutes to get things to look right.
For inexpensive options, and especially if I’m wearing a V neck sweater, I like this fitted v tank which is currently on sale for only $10 and comes in a billion colors. Hands-down one of the best cashmere sweaters out there under $150, and right now it’s under $100 with code together! This one, which I also love, does come in Petite (and regular) sizing and is still just under $100, which is awesome for cashmere. Mine are from last year but this year I love this pair from Converse: a faux fur lined pair in black and also these super cool leather burgundy low-tops with fuzzy lining.
I don’t know if it’s a function of being in my 40’s or my sense of style turning more classic, but I can tell you I was never this obsessed with camel coats before. To aid and abet you in this horrible but fun addiction called online shopping, I linked 9 of my favorite camel coats in the scroll bar below. In terms of style, I love the wrap style front and belted trench design of this Kenneth Cole coat. so it’s a good time to buy it if you’re in the market for an elegant and classic wool blend coat.
