I think my creative energy has taken a backseat these past few months, because I’m in the first transitional stage of my life where a large part of my future is yet to be determined. Since I attended pre-school the last almost 19 years, come this August, of my life will have been spent with most of my identity tied to being a student. This blog was made as a fun space for me to share two of my passions with anyone who would read: writing and fashion/style. During my time away I plan to rediscover a creative voice for my blog and a new direction for it to go.
The museum is a very modern art museum a lot of the pieces while interesting didn’t exactly scream art to me. However, it was fun to go in the museum and think about the art and how and why it got to be featured. As we were heading back to the bus station the rain and wind picked up so hard our umbrellas flew inside out, so we managed to time our exit perfectly. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures from Bilbao, and the few I remember taking where of a couple in the Guggenheim, before we realized we actually weren’t allowed to take pictures.
Since I spent almost a full five months abroad, I think I have some good tips to share with you about the experience. While yes not every country in a continent has a similar culture, people, or language; a Canadian’s life experience will be more similar to an American’s and the same goes for someone in neighboring countries in say Europe especially when it comes to how schooling work and how long young adults should remain in the home. Knowing a few phrases in your study abroad country’s language is pretty beneficial especially if it’s not tourist season while you’re there. I think it helps not only you but the people you’re interacting with if you’re not immediately bombarding them in English.
I don’t yet have an answer for that other than what I’ve been doing, which is mainly talking about the weather and my life, but let’s face it the weather is a pretty boring topic. I absolutely adore this dress not just because it’s a t-shirt dress, my favorite style, but because I think the yellow really compliments my skin. The Spaniards love platform shoes for women; sandals, sneakers, boots you name it, and not just a 2 maybe 3 inch platform, I’m talking 3-6 inches. These probably fall in the realm of 3 inches and since they’re a flatform they’re really comfortable and easy to walk in.
