when i first picked this book up.

because alec & i requested work off at a different time this year - we didn't go anywhere for spring break (minus the grand america over the weekend into the break). as much as we all wanna talk about poop haha ... so since we were kind of dealing with a little sickie, we didn't plan much .. but friday was the ultimate day for these kiddos. my favorite line of capri's that day was "i need a selfie phone mom" .. excuse me what? ! gav couldn't stop talking about how much fun he had with grandma & grandpa - he's so lucky he has grandparents (on both sides) who love him so much!

it was definitely a page turner with a plot twist (or two) that were unexpected .. i mean i guess i kind of saw them coming .. but was unsure what was really going to happen. like it could've ended maybe 100 pages before it actually did. read it if you're into murder-mysteries & skeletons in the closet that catch up to people kind of books (whew that was a mouthful).

the kiddos were given tokens to the toy store after we visited the concierge for complimentary chocolate chip cookies (delicious btw) & they were able to pick out a stuffed animal to take home! we were upgraded to a suite for basically pennies & when we visited la bonne vie for gelato - the sweet man working in the shoppe that night sent us home with a box of goodies free of charge! after dinner we went back to the hotel & wandered around to the lobby to get some cookies, to the toy & candy stores as well as la bonne vie for dessert. i ordered the eggs benedict, gav got some belgium waffles with fruit & this amazing cream cheese spread & al got the grand american breakfast complete with bacon, eggs, breakfast potatoes & some toast.
