Life can throw these crazy struggles at you from time to time and when you're in the thick of it, you feel like you're drowning and when you're just about to come up for air another weight gets added to your belt and you're under again. Going through a pretty rough time like this and to all of you out there that might be struggling like I was, trust me it gets easier, it's not going to happen over night but if you try to stay positive and take everyday as a step, you can get through it. So when I'm wanting to take time off to give myself some time to actually work on myself, it's very hard. I'm not one to ask for help and if I'm going through tough times, I just bottle it up and have the attitude of that's life

A couple of the things I’ve learnt over the last few years of investing in footwear is that firstly, don’t get caught up in the hype, so many times I’ve fallen for the raffle and limited edition pieces because I’ve enjoyed the chase of winning those limited edition trainers, but realistically once I’ve received them, I’ve questioned whether I would have purchased them without the challenge of winning them in the raffle.

After a crazy journey and lots of physio later; I’m super excited to be riding again! It felt like I’d just been hit with the riding bug and then unfortunately my knee stopped me. Felt super amped to be able to work with Tim on this and building my bike up from a fitting perspective has been incredible. I actually personally built the bike up with Tim (I mostly watched,) but got as stuck in as I could (I now know how to bleed disc brakes correctly).

You don’t often hear about clothing brands creating pieces with the environment in mind; you do however hear a great deal about the effect the clothing industry has on our environment. When GANT approached me about collaborating on their new line of shirts in which they’re consciously using recycled materials, I was super keen to be part of it. It makes sense for a brand who has a strong connection with maritime living to launch the GANT Beacons project.
