A new bag always feels like the perfect update to my style. With all the new collections instore and online, now is the perfect time to pick up the pieces that you love. The Loewe bag that I’m planning on snapping up has already been Out of Stock once, but with a fresh delivery on Net-A-Porter, and a 15% discount on all new season items, it’s the perfect time to find your favourite too! Soft, squishy and so chic, I love the effortless style of this bag.
We always wanted to update the interiors – the cream walls and beige carpets were fine, but it felt like there was much more that we could do with the place – and whilst the layout was also ok, there was room to add an extra shower room and by swapping over the kitchen (which was originally next to our bedroom) and the main bathroom (which was next to the living room) we could create a more usable space. A couple of years ago we decided that we’d start buying a little memento on our travels to remind us of all of the places we’ve been, and whilst I have to admit that sometimes we forget, we’ve now got quite a collection. We already have this chair (which I’m planning on softening with a sheepskin throw) and this bar trolley, and I’m sure we’ll be picking up plenty more from here! So, if you’re also in the middle of a major renovation project, or you’re just looking for a little bit of interior inspiration to update your home style, here are some of my current favourite picks.
Safari style is a look that has been going strong since the seventies… think Yves Saint Laurent and that iconic image of Veruschka. But this season’s iteration is full of contrasting textures, those warm muted shades of khaki, oxblood and taupe, artisanal details and voluminous shapes. Wear it as a shirt, thrown over a slip dress, belted, or pair it with high waisted shorts. The must have accessories include a detailed basket bag, stacks of layered gold jewels and oversized tortoiseshell sunglasses.
Alexis Mabille showed his haute couture collection in a snowy Paris this season, but as soon as the doors to the venue shut we were treated to a runway full of colour in a collection titled “Rainbow Splash”. Starting with muted black and navy – the most beautifully cut navy cropped jacket, embellished with crystals was immediately on my wishlist – and ending with a trio of spectacular brides. And in between, a sea of colourful gowns festooned with feathers, dotted tulle and Alexis’ signature knotted bows. The beauty look was bold: makeup artists applied fresh flower petals on to models’ faces and hair, and I was lucky enough to spot a couple of the girls after the show to take a close up shot!
