Kinda looks like this is slowly turning into a travel blog huh? Really though, I love making these posts for myself more than anything. It’s my digital travel scrapbook that allows me to go down memory lane later on and remember all the amazing places I’ve been and the details that would easily get forgotten over time if I didn’t make note of them
I’m sharing this mid-century modern holiday village I created. It’s the one holiday project I did this year I’ve always wanted to have a holiday village but decided to give it a mid-century modern look. then did a little sketching before sitting down at my computer (using Adobe Illustrator) and designed five mid-century modern houses to make up my holiday village.
A few year ago I was researching the famous hot air balloon festival in Turkey and found out that there’s another huge balloon festival much closer to home, in New Mexico. The iPhone is great in good conditions but it doesn’t do well in low lighting, which I didn’t really think of. This time the weather wasn’t as perfect and there was no dawn patrol and it wasn’t until the sun was already up over the cloudy sky that we even saw any sign of balloons. You didn’t think I was going to go alllllllllllll the way to New Mexico to see a billion hot air balloons and not try and get on one?
and I just couldn’t help but be inspired by all the beautiful fall colours and make some changing fall colour cookies. I’ve made sugar cookies in the past and decided this time to try this recipe from Katerina’s Kitchen, which doesn’t require chilling (if you’re looking to save time) and I’m happy to report that it turned out great and tastes delicious! Since my icing didn’t come out all that great, I’m not going to share it. It did the job and my cookies looked perfect but 24 hours later, the icing still didn’t dry.
