Though I’m never one to care much about the latest trends, I do like to give a nod to the changing seasons; a new silhouette here, a change of lipstick colour there. For me, fragrance is one of my year-round style staples; a spritz of scent in the air as I dash out the door each morning lends, as Christian Dior once said, the finishing touch on a look
On Sunday evening I also check my schedule and the weather forecast and make sure I have a couple of outfits planned so that I’m not frantically trying things on when I’m rushing to catch a train. I hate wasting free time, having to grocery shop when I’m already hungry after work, so we schedule an online grocery delivery for every other Saturday morning (we use Ocado and I automatically order the things we always use and then add things to the ‘trolley’ on the app whenever we run out or I think of something), and that way I can visit the local farmer’s market to just buy fresh produce on the alternating Saturdays and it be a pleasure rather than a chore. So I always try to get a longer workout or class in first thing on Sunday morning so that it’s out of the way, and that way I don’t feel so bad if I need to miss a workout during the week. I’ve found I enjoy the social side of social media when I’m not constantly on my phone, and feel so much happier when I don’t touch my phone for a day and instead use that time for something more productive.
Happy weekend everyone! This week was nice and quiet, which was just what was needed. My friend Meghan (who you may remember from this post from our trip to Paris last year) was in town from New York for a few days so I stayed at her hotel and we squeezed in as many of our other favourite London things as possible, the highlight of which was the Dior-themed afternoon tea at The Berkeley (which I cannot recommend enough)
Last week, my dear friend Meghan was in town from New York. She had just written this beautiful post on being single in your 30s, and we started talking about how no matter what age or stage of life you’re at, people seem to want to project onto us their own ideals of what we should be doing with our lives
