Highlights
Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival 2020

The beer was flowing thanks to several local and national breweries including, but not limited to Guinness, New Realm Brewing Company, Sweetwater Brewing, Reformation Brewing, Eventide Brewing, Flying Embers Hard Kombucha, Urban Tree Cider, Heavy Seas Beer, Atlanta Brewing Co., and so many more!! There was Hard Kombucha hosted by Mike Ridolfo of Flying Embers, The Whiskey Row Series hosted by James Joseph of Old Forester Whiskey, Tennessee Whiskey vs Bourbon hosted by Evan Christy of George Dickel, and Intro to Eventide hosted by Geoffrey Williams from Be sure to follow them on Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter at @beerbourbonbbq Lastly but certainly not least, I want to give a HUGE thank you to Mr. Danny Patel and his staff at my hotel sponsor during my trip, Baymont Inn and Suites Marietta by Marriott for the great accommodations and excellent service on such short notice. The hotel is centrally located near restaurants (Cracker Barrel next door and Bojangles Fried Chicken across the street), breweries (Ironmonger Brewing & Viking Alchemist Meadery are less than a block away so they are walking distance, Red Hare Brewing, Shezmu Cellars, Glover Park Brewing, Schoolhouse Brewing, and Treehorn Cider are all within a short drive or if you happen to be lucky enough to be staying on a Saturday you can hop aboard The Marietta Beer Bus between 2pm and 8pm and let it take you to all the above breweries), Dave & Buster’s is right down the road as well, and you are close to the Interstate and the Atlanta Braves new home at Truist Park at The Battery, which is a whole entertainment district with bars, restaurants, shops, and Terrapin Brewing Brewhouse.

Marker 48 Brewing Co. 48 Month Anniversary

Me and the hundreds of people who braved the weather were treated to some great beers (many of which were one off’s brewed specifically for this event), awesome entertainment by some of the area’s top bands and acoustic performers, fun and games (including ax throwing, which I did participate in), and last but not least let’s not forget about the food provided by some of the area’s best food trucks (unless you were VIP like myself, then we had our own private, catered food). Upon arriving I made my way into the Taproom where I chose my first beers of the day, of course I chose a flight of 4 over a Pint as I love to try various beers and share my reviews with you my followers and friends. Seeing how this was in the middle of Fall and we were approaching the Thanksgiving season, I had to try the “3rd Times a Charm” a Pumpkin Pie Cream Ale coming in at a low 4.2% ABV made this cream ale all the more easy drinking and enjoyable, especially if you like pumpkin pie. There was a full day of beer, food, music, and fun which included over 20 beers, including several from a few local breweries who are friends with owner Tina Ryman, ax throwing (which I even got involved in and tried), some of the best local bands, and of course don’t forget about the food.

Ellicottville Brewing Company – Blueberry Maple Pancake Ale

Today’s featured brewery is Ellicottville Brewing Company based out of Ellicottville, NY and Little Valley, NY and their Blueberry Maple Pancake Ale. Blueberry Maple Pancake Ale is reminiscent of a New England pancake breakfast at Grandma’s house. An authentic craft brewery would be the perfect match for the small village of Ellicottville, which just so happens to be located in the heart of New York’s ski country, which is also known as “ EBC now operates 3 separate brewpubs: home brewery in Ellicottville, EBC West in Fredonia, NY, and the third, lakeside Ellicottville Brewing on Chautauqua in Bemus Point, NY.

Devils Backbone Brewing Company – Vienna Lager

So kick back in your favorite chair, pop open your favorite beer, pour a glass of your favorite wine, or mix up your favorite drink and get ready to join me as I welcome you along on my journey of Drinking Across America. Vienna Lager is, as the name implies, a Vienna Style Lager (which range from medium amber to brown colored and originated in Vienna, Austria), with an average 5.2% ABV and 18 IBU. If you’d like to give this Lager a try and can’t find it at your favorite Beer Store, I’ve got the perfect solution to your problem.. If you ever find yourself in the state of Virginia and are looking for craft beer, look no further, as you’ll sure to find at least one that you’ll fall in love with from Devils Backbone Brewing Company.
