After what felt like forever, we got all of our permits and we have been demoing like CRAZY! He was the contractor on our current home and he’s sussing out our floor dilemas…like 30 different materials on 30 different levels. Then we need like a million more LVLs like about 21 more, literally, but that’s not the most exciting talk. Very soon I’ll be sharing my Vision Boards for the lakehouse reno, which has me super pumped because it’s the total look and feel of what I’m up to!

Like everything doesn’t work…which isn’t such a big deal because we’re renovating anyway I’m pleased to report that we are kicking butt with the mustiness now, but man was there a ton of carpet and underpad to take out and I’m finding that the smell was really in the cupboards, so even with the walls demoed it wasn’t until the last kitchen cupboard was taken out that it’s started to seem like we’ll kill this must. Ok so that weird exterior room you can see on the left outside is another reason this house didn’t sell. Create one cohesive and dreamy open concept kitchen and living room, switch pool table room to dining room!

I don’t ever want to compete for a house on the open market…that’s actually my least favourite. I have always wanted to live on the water, but somehow it always seemed out of our price range, or that we would have to move out of the downtown area of our town to be on the water, or that we wouldn’t be able to get a home with enough frontage, because so man houses on the water are on really narrow lots and that didn’t fit with the picture of the home that I wanted. We would make our home a vacation rental and buy the Cape Cod on the lake for us and god-willing own two really special heritage homes in the most special town on this earth. In addition to our brand new boho glam bedroom, over the next few months I’ll be overhauling our other 3 bedrooms in time for you to stay in them! We are so fortunate to have found another dreamy historic home to renovate, about a minute’s drive from our current home!
