The next day, April 12th, Branson’s grandmother, Jo Ann Stinnett, dropped by the house and found it unlocked with no one there. Police arrived at Bob Perry’s home and found Branson’s wallet and other personal belongings inside. During the search of the man’s home, police found a chat log on his computer that led them to Jack Wayne Rogers. Although the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has not yet determined the cause of the Camp Fire, officials have focused their investigation on electrical equipment operated by Pacific Gas & Electric Co. in a rural area near the tiny town of Pulga. Around 9:00 a.m. on November 8, 2018,  Oroville police officers went to a home at the Cottonwood Estates mobile home park off Fifth Avenue for a report of an unresponsive person.

Recently ECSU has once again been in the public spotlight after the Elizabeth City Police Department found that 126 campus crimes dating from 2006 – 2013, including 17 known reports of sexual assault, had not been investigated by campus police.
