The infinite food possibilities of MSG

Even after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and a joint committee of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization (WHO) declared it safe (see end of this post for links to research!), people kept looking for “ I have discovered MSG as a fantastic flavor booster that can also be used to reduce the sodium in a recipe when you use it in place of some salt. You see, in the 90s, amidst a rough food shortage crisis, Cubans took to making chicken breaded chicken fillets… with grapefruit peel instead of real poultry. New research published in the Journal of Food Science shows that MSG can be used to significantly reduce sodium (by 31-61%) in a recipe while maintaining or enhancing liking for better-for-you foods like whole grains and vegetables.

No-Bake Valentine’s Day Desserts

Put the strawberries in a pot with sugar and let them boil, when it has a semi-jelly consistency, strain it and keep the liquid, add the hydrated gelatin and let it cool. Remove the mix from the heat and add the white chocolate, stir with gentle movements until it melts but don’t over-do it to avoid letting air in. Mix until they melt completely, when it’s done, remove from heat and add the Honey Nut Cheerios, if you want you can also add sprinkles to make it prettier. Using any big mold you want (I’m using a heart-shaped one), start brushing the base and the sides with chocolate, once you do the first layer, stick it in the freezer for at least 10 minutes.

Easy Quarantine Recipe: Brookie!

A Brookie is a mix between a cookie and a brownie, it’s the perfect dessert to make during this quarantine because besides being delicious, it’s a SUPER easy recipe to make! To make this brookie I mostly used products I already had in my pantry and even my 2-year-old helped me make it! You can watch the whole process in the video below (make sure to turn on subtitles!):

Mi parto natural en tiempos de coronavirus

la idea de que entre más caminase y aguantase de pie, más rápido avanzaría la dilatación y más rápido podría ver pensé en la ansiedad que sentirían, en su dolor, tristeza, desolación y todos los sentimientos que no podían ser consolados por su acompañante el segundo en que salió la bebé, el dolor se disipó (o más probable es que a mí y hubiera podido estar rodeada de más familia y amigos, aparte de no tener que preocuparme por nada más que dar a luz.
