If you’re planning to do just this, you’ll love our tips for travelling in cold climates in style. Just because you’re going somewhere cold, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need a giant, bulky jacket fit for an Eskimo. Once I got a pair, I suddenly wasn’t freezing every time I stepped outside! They’re thin enough that they won’t feel too bulky under your tights and they’ll keep your feet nice and warm.
I’d been hoping that the gel and breaking the waters would be enough to kickstart my labour and that I wouldn’t need the hormone drip as well. I’d been quite fearful of having to be on the drip in my labour, although I knew there’d be a pretty good chance I’d end up on it. I’d originally wanted to labour in the bath but that wasn’t possible now that I’d been induced. I certainly wouldn’t have been able to stand up or walk around the room, but I didn’t feel like I’d lost control over my lower half.
Just a few short years ago, Canggu, or ‘the Gu’ as it is otherwise known, was little more than a collection of small, sleepy villages scattered amidst the rice fields of Bali’s south-western coast. Canggu’s beautiful black sand beaches are now lined with surf clubs, capitalising on the fantastic surf breaks, which lie just off the shore, whilst the town itself is now full of stylish boutiques, energetic bars, yoga studios and cafes serving healthy snacks and artisan coffee. With great views of the paddy fields, quiet streets and plenty of ancient temples, this is the perfect place for those wanting a quiet family holiday, or for anyone who just wants to get away from life’s hustle and bustle for a while. This really is the old man of the Canggu bar scene but it’s still a great place for a wild night out (its also a good place to hang out during the day).
Shortly after we took her home from hospital, Evie had to be readmitted to the special care nursery due to an infection and she had to spend a full week in there recovering. We’ve since been struggling with feeding and weight gain issues for the past few weeks. Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out to send messages of support and encouragement over the past few weeks. Now that we’re back on track, I can’t wait to share all the details about the past month, starting with her birth story!
