In fact, only 4% of those recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Companies can boast of having achieved this recognition for 5 consecutive years. Architectural Fabrication’s 100 employees intentionally live the 5 Core Values that Drive our Success, resulting in our selection for the 5th straight year. * Consistently meet and exceed the expectations of our customers by providing superior value through quality products and services. Nationally known companies like Domino’s Pizza, Dell, and LinkedIn have made the list; however, only the likes of Microsoft, Timberland, and Patagonia have made the list five consecutive times.
In 23 years we’ve grown rapidly, expanding and shifting our focus from service work to actually manufacturing custom products with a talented team of over 100 individuals. We now design, engineer and manufacture custom extruded aluminum sunshades, commercial canopies, metal and fabric awning systems, trellises, walkway covers and more. We design, fabricate, finish, pack, ship and dispatch our installation teams from under one roof. We are built much like our general contractor partners with distinct Preconstruction and Operations teams that coordinate and manage projects from start to finish.
In February 2019, Architectural Fabrication was awarded a contract on the FedEx Ground Distribution Center in Bethpage, New York. This was the first opportunity that Amanda Rousseau, Account Manager, worked from pre-qual to closed won. Lauren reached out to many subcontractors to perform the install to save our crews a trip to New York. Unfortunately, within hours of the start of install the subcontractor backed out and forced our hand to self perform.
In 2018, Arch-Fab made a significant investment to upgrade the design documents that we use internally and externally to communicate our scope of work for each project in our pipeline. We directed most of our resources into a new software, SolidWorks 3D Professional, which is a best in class 3D modeling software for the manufacturing industry. One of the specific challenges that we encountered was that the Bill of Material (“BOM”) extract from SolidWorks required our Project Planner to spend .5 hour per BOM on average to combine and reorganize line items to effectively communicate to our Purchasing Manager what the material demand was for the project. This advancement in the design process creating a pinch point for our Production Team because they were having to search for individual part number drawings and print them off one at a time.
