Today we’re exploring the small town of Stockbridge, Massachusetts, which is full of natural and historical attractions. Not only is this area a haven for creatives – authors, painters, poets, and sculptors, but it also draws in lots of people from away, who come to explore the abundant culture and natural beauty and then find that they never want to leave! We are fortunate to live nearby and explore @visittheberkshires as often as we can! Pictured: 1. Spring blooms at @naumkeagofficial 2. Macarons and cookies at @lost_lamb_patisserie 3. Do you enjoy solo camping? I find the experience so relaxing, and I never run out of things to do: Hiking Swimming Reading Writing Drawing Yoga Cooking Sunset watching Birdwatching Playing with fire Napping Being still #camping #solocamping #camplife #campinglove #letsgocamping

I’ve spent the past few days in @visitithaca - mostly camping and hiking, but today’s highlights were wandering around @cornellbotanicgardens and eating the most delicious lunch at @moosewood_restaurant . I forgot how amazing this town is! I’ve got one more day to explore. Anyone have tips - wine, trails, shops, food? 1. Morning hike at Buttermilk Falls 2. Rhododendrons at Cornell Botanic Gardens 3. Lunch at Moosewood Restaurant 4. Gorge Trail - Buttermilk Falls State Park 5. Buttermilk Falls 6. Camping cabin at Buttermilk Falls SP 7. We set the alarm for 4:45 am so we could experience sunrise in @letchworthstatepark ✨The falls were so pretty, and we didn’t see a single soul (except the snakes and squirrels). Put this beautiful park on your summer bucket list. 💦 #iloveny #letchworthstatepark #upstateny #nystateparks

The @berkshirebotanicalgarden in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts is one of the oldest public display gardens in the Northeast. It was established in 1934 and features dozens of display areas with an emphasis on plants that thrive in the Northeast. In addition to 24 acres of gardens, be sure to check out the indoor galleries for a variety of garden-themed exhibits. You can also download an audio tour on your phone to help you navigate and explore. I loved visiting the rock garden, perennial borders, and the new topiary garden, and the shade trees are gorgeous too! Give yourself at least an hour to meander the property while planning your own garden.  #botanicalgardens #berkshires #westernmass #flowerpower #nativeplants #massachusetts

@sparkleontherocks is one of the most unique and beautiful vacation rentals in Vermont - perfect for a friends’ reunion, bachelorette party, or girlfriend getaway. Located in Wallingford, this historic home sleeps eight people. I’ll share photos of the inside soon, but isn’t the outside lovely? And that barn! It’s available on @vrbo or through @thesparklebarnshop #vermont #sparkleontherocks #vt #wallingfordvt #

Where is summer road trip season taking you this year?

It’s barely warm enough to have my windows open in Vermont, but I’m already thinking about fall, and planning a few photography trips. I was working on an article yesterday about fall photography tips for beginners, so I spent way too much time scrolling through images from the past few years. These were all taken in Vermont because I hardly ever leave the state in October. 🍁 #fallphotography #leafpeeping #fallinvermont #vermont #vermontfall #getoutside #newegland #mynewengland #fallinnewengland

We’re always hunting for cool breweries when we travel. We are looking for yummy beers, of course, but also cool venues that are dog-friendly with great outdoor seating. @coldspringbrew in Cape May was the first non-profit brewery in New Jersey, with profits supporting @hcsvillage . Many of the recipes are based on those from the 1800s. Visit Historic Cold Spring Village and the brewery for a fun afternoon in Cape May! #newjersey #capemay #capemaynj #jerseyshore

A few of the lovely Victorian homes in Cape May, New Jersey. Cape May’s renowned collection of Victorian homes includes more than 600 buildings designed, built, and lovingly restored to include intricate gingerbread trim, steep-gabled roofs, and vibrant color combinations. While the ocean put Cape May on the map, the National Historic District sets the town apart from other seaside towns and attracts visitors from all over the world. Several fires destroyed mostly wooden houses in the 1850s, and the disastrous fire of 1878 wiped out about half the town. When it was time to rebuild, the new buildings were constructed in the style of the day — Victorians with fanciful trim and intricate dormers and gables. My suggestion for checking out Cape May’s Historic District is to just wander around on foot and see where it leads. Most of the homes are private residences or vacation rentals, but they are easy to view from the outside. During our visit, we walked many of the side streets between Beach Avenue and Washington Street and found so many beautiful homes. Some of our favorites were on Ocean Street, Jackson Street, and Decatur Street. Be sure to check out the historical tours available through @capemaymac #newjersey #capemaynj #jerseyshore

What Could be Better than a Wine and Waterfall Weekend in the Hudson Valley?

Because Minnewaska is only open for day use, we recommend pitching your tent at Robibero Winery in New Palz for the weekend. Let’s explore Minnewaska State Park Preserve and Robibero Winery, both within an hour and a half of New York City! After enjoying Awosting Falls, head back the way you came and hop on the Sunset Carriage Road, and hike another .8 miles to Lake Minnewaska. From the Lake Minnewaska carriage road, you can take either Upper Awosting or the Castle Point carriage Road and hike further up for some really amazing views of the surrounding mountains.

Why You Need to Explore Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park

By February, winter’s clutches are slowly loosening their grip on Arches National Park, and you will find relatively mild, pleasant days, very few people, and tiny wildflowers making a glorious appearance across the canyon. : Beat the National Park Crowds in these Incredible National Forests Paddle Through the Mangroves in Everglades National Park Winter is considered the dry season in Everglades National Park, and it’s a secluded paradise for birders and lovers of wildlife.
