Former AAF CB Keith Reaser is headed to the NFL, where he’ll line up for the Chiefs in 2019, coming to terms with Kansas City on a deal. Reaser will get a $500,000 signing bonus, $25,000 workout bonus and a $25,000 roster bonus from Kansas City. The former fifth-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2014 NFL Draft played four NFL seasons before being cut by the Chiefs in September. Reaser, 27, played for the Orlando Apollos during the Alliance of American Football season, making 12 tackles and hauling in three interceptions.
Thursday night the Jets showed off for the first time their new look uni’s that they will start to wear in the 2019 season. Jets ownership and executives collaborated with the NFL and Nike to identify three colors that will define the next generation of New York Jets football: Gotham Green, Spotlight White and Stealth Black. In addition to the implementation of black into the overall color scheme, the Gotham Green was a shade developed exclusively for the Jets. I think it’s a statement about how we want to be perceived as a little bolder, a little more innovative and a little greater,” Glat said.
Now that the AAF, otherwise known as the Alliance of American Football is done and over, NFL teams are taking long looks at some of the better players who might be on the market. The Panthers, according to Adam Schefter at ESPN, have inked one of those players, signing wide receiver Rashad Ross, who had been playing for the Arizona Hotshots. Ross played his college football at Arizona State, where he posted 55 catches, 864 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in two years. His time may not be all that long with the Cats, as he’s just 6-foot, 180 pounds, and more than likely he’ll have to fight for a roster spot at the receiver position if he’s going to stay on the roster.
The Seahawks signed defensive end Nate Orchard on Thursday, Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reports. Orchard was a second-round pick out of Utah by the Browns in 2015 and has five sacks in 38 career games. He was cut by the Browns prior to the 2018 season after having had a starring turn on Hard Knocks, and spent time on the rosters of both the Bills and Chiefs before being released by Kansas City in November.
