I want to encourage, motivate and inspire women of all walks of life to discover {or rediscover} their own fabulous panache!
I know a lot of people have strong opinions about homeschooling, and that’s okay. Like I mentioned, with my husband’s schedule, it’s easier for us to have family time when we can do it when we want. Some of my older sons’ (he’s 11) best friends are girls and it’s not weird at all. Let me just add a disclaiming and say, like I mentioned before, that I don’t think that these things can’t be done while your kids are in a public or private school.
It got to the point where I would wash my hair, and start styling it and there would be a solid 2-3 inches of nasty grease — like it left residue on my fingers kind of nasty — in my hair. I felt like why the heck should I care about what I look like when my hair is gonna be nasty no matter what I do? I switch shampoos, I got a hair cut, I even got a nifty little shower filter that is supposed to make your hard water soft. I would wash my hair, get out of the shower and my hair was grimy.
Then I saw the picture of our cute little puppy, Storm and realized that I needed to update on that little situation. So I gave in considering that he didn’t want a puppy at all, and at least he liked this breed. Then, actually it happened the first night we had him home, he was sitting on Eli’s lap and Eli was petting him, no one was being crazy or anything. So Storm’s name comes from the super hero Storm from X-Men — who by the way marries Tchalla in the Marvel comics — and because she came to us because of a storm in Houston, Texas!
Even as I opened my blog this morning to sit down and finally write something, I find that I’ve missed it. I’ve missed connecting with the people I’ve met through this blog and social media over the past 6 years (say what? ! My boys love it, my husband actually likes it, and it’s worked great for our family. I love the relationships I’ve made over the years doing this, and I’m going to stick to the blogging parts I enjoy.
