In contrast, after really enjoying Truly Devious I decided to pick up the sequel The Vanishing Stair which I'm currently around halfway through; so far so good. I also picked up The Wangs vs The World (Jade Chang) a couple of days ago, which is one of my 'vow to read' books over on Blogger's Bookshelf this year. Format-wise Sadie was my favourite, with the podcast chapters woven throughout, but I think for my overall February favourite I'm going to have to go with Truly Devious! I'm also planning to finish both The Vanishing Stair and The Wangs vs The World, as well as my next physical library reservation which is Where The Crawdads Sing (Delia Owens).
'vow to read' title, YA titles, Horrible Histories books, four-star reads, 6 books read in total Books Read Books Whilst they were both well-worth picking up and are certainly ones to add to your TBR if you haven't read them yet, overall I think Morgan Matson's latest release wins out for me. 2018 releases, books read in total After posting the challenge update linked above I actually managed to sneak in another prompt from the Popsugar list, making a final total of 30 for the year. The Blinds really felt like it stood out as something completely different from anything else I've read recently and is a great way to round up a year in books!
This month I managed to cross a couple more Popsugar prompts off the list, although I'm now accepting the fact that it's highly unlikely I'll be able to complete the remaining eleven before the year is out. If you have any recommendations for a book about about time travel or one that's set in the 80's please let me know! Similarly to August, this month's selection of books includes several 4-star reads which is making it pretty difficult for me to choose just one favourite. but I'd also like to note that if you haven't yet read The Hate U Give it's defintiely one to bump to the top of your TBR.
I picked up two of the cereal bowls (witch and pumpkin themed) plus the matching side plates and have been using the bowls for my breakfast every morning since. The witch-themed mugs, also by Rae Dunn, are another welcome addition to my daily routine as I've been using the 'Hocus Pocus' one in place of my usual water mug at home. At work, I've swapped my trusty tropical-themed bamboo cup for this taller Halloween-themed one that my mum found on a trip to TK Maxx. Since taking the photographs for this post I've also picked up a witch-themed ceramic spoon rest (another TK Maxx find I didn't buy but went back for) and placed orders for this amazing bat enamel pin I'd had my eye on for a while, as well as a selection of different Halloween-themed nail decals which I'm hoping will work okay with my non-toxic nail polishes - I'll report back on this once they arrive!
