After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2014, I decided to create North of Manhattan as a way to express my love of fashion and all things different.

Boyfriend Sweater

From denim, to tees, sweaters, tailored pieces and even shoes…the masculine style is taking over womenswear. The roomier and slouchier pieces offer an alternative to the infamous skinny jeans and tight crop tops (no complaining here) Today’s boyfriend sweater from Current/Elliott is relaxed and detailed with shaggy fringe accents. The floppy brim fedora, which has turn into a closet staple is another piece inspired by the classic accessory favored by the dapper gentleman.

Loop Cardi

Wear it alone or layer it under an even bigger coat…either way you get the cozy feel from this loop cardi. It can bring you through fall, into the holiday season, and last you all winter. Today I paired it with skinny jeans, my Stella flatforms, and my new beautiful patchwork belt! The colorful leather can add a spark to everything from billowy dresses to jeans and trousers.

rue Saint-André des Arts

As I am sure you have realized by now the bomber has taken over the fashion world, and it doesn’t look like it is going anywhere very soon. As the temperature begins to drop…coats, jackets, and layering pieces become non-negotiable, and the bomber is the perfect off-duty/cool piece for those on the go. The bird embroidery and gathered effect on today’s jacket makes it a must-have piece in my opinion. Underneath I layered a cotton tee with lettering graphic “rue Saint-André des Arts” and a ribbed-knit midi skirt for a trendy, yet casual look.

Cold Shoulder

After feeling a little under the weather yesterday and in bed the entire day with allergies and a pretty bad migraine, today I'm a little better. This striped dress with the cold shoulders is the second striped one I bought from French Connection and it is perfect to wear with sneakers. The look is just simple and fresh, easy to wear just about anywhere and very comfortable. You can add a few accessories with it, I thought about a white fedora with a black ribbon which would have been adorable but the decided to forgo, pull my hair back and just keep the look all about the dress.
