I recently built some new craft displays that I am completely in love with – one of them is this folding check-out stand. This check-out stand is 4 ft wide by 2 ft deep – I’ve been in spaces as small as 5×6 and as big as 10×10 I do wish I had used thicker shelves on the inside, just because I end up putting my feet on the bottom shelf when I’m sitting on my fold-up stool. The current shelves hold the weight of everything I need but that’s another thing to think about when you are planning for your own.
It’s been a minute since I shared a DIY post – like, a real long minute. I cleaned out the hole where the legs had rotted off, cut a small dowel rod to fit down in that hole and then filled the extra space with Bondo. Once the Bondo was dry, I used a double sided screw thingie to screw into one end of the cut-off baluster, and then screwed the other end into the wooden dowel piece in the hutch. but here’s a quick rundown of the MCM piece we built to replace our damaged hutch at the new Texas house.
It’s now in my husband’s office where I don’t have to look at it. The best part is that they couldn’t deny this claim as previously damaged or marred because, duh, we obvs didn’t have it in our home like that So, that’s what’s been the haps around here since I posted last summer – somehow I’ve been getting more subscribers per day than I ever got when I was actually blogging regularly I would like to share the new home reno, the mid-century console we built as well as the custom cutting table we are building this weekend for the studio, so stay tuned for those things (don’t hold your breath), but again, I’m no longer interested in feeding the Pinterest machine.
So, I’ve basically quit blogging but somehow people are still subscribing – which is good but my direction has changed a bit from the DIY scene. The etsy shop hasn’t been great so far, but I haven’t put as much work into it as I should be Here’s the video, and for those of you who recently subscribed and are hoping to get some DIY tutorials in your inbox, sorry bro, ain’t happenin’. So, that’s the haps lately and as soon as we get settled into the new place, I’ll be building an office in the new backyard and takin’ it to the next level.
