You donāt have to have a ton of money to get startedāØ Iāll tell people this all the time. I donāt recommend spending a lot of money on software in the beginning. Starting out lean can be really beneficial in the early stages as your building out your online business. There are a few things I recommend starting with, but Iām never going to tell anyone to start with super expensive software unless youāre making a lot of money and you understand your customer journey and know what tech you need to support them. If youāre wondering what I recommend if youāre just starting out, click the link in my bio and grab my website software guide. I was recently talking with a friend about Denise Duffield Thomasā book Chillprenuer. Honestly, this is probably my 100th time listening to it. Once the person setting up the meeting confirms a time and date, the meeting gets added to both of our calendars with a link to join the call. You no longer have to worry about the back and forth emails and trying to figure out time zones.
I launched my blog 2 years ago without knowing exactly how I would start monetizing. I donāt know where I got this idea that I would be making all this money after I launched my blog. the money is in the list,ā and blah blah blahā¦.but If you want to learn more about the exact elements you need to start offering your services online + setting up systems for your blog, register for my Masterclass HERE!
One of the best things I love about the tech Iāve invested in is the data that Iām able to collect, which helps me determine what to sell/where to spend my time, what performed well, and also what tanked. If someone wants to schedule a meeting with me to talk about the services I offer and how I can potentially help them, my clients can book calls with me directly on my website and once the meeting is confirmed theyāll Determine if the cost is worth the investment by writing down all the tech you need, the cost of your services, and how many customers youāll need to book to at least cover the costs of all the tech. Going back to my samcart investment, I knew that I needed certain information (ie number of page views, conversions etc.) to help me decide how a certain product is performing.
This is great because as your blog grows and you have more content, you may want to repurpose blog posts and that can be difficult if your content has a timestamp. Hereās what to do instead: Remove the dates and repurpose the content for future content. If you are planning to work with a graphic designer, make sure you iterate to your designer what you want people to do when they come to your site so that they keep this in mind and create a design makes it easier for your audience to take action. If youāre interested, my friend Abby is a great copywriter and sheās helped me create pages that convertā¦which is super important.
