I’m back today with a beautiful floral dress that serves as perfect inspiration if you don’t know what to wear on Easter Sunday. It’ll be baby girl’s first holiday and just the thought of celebrating and starting traditions as a family of three is getting me so excited. Yes, it might be predictable to wear florals for Easter but the deep tones and subtle ruching details really make it a wonderful choice for transitional winter to spring weather. Sometimes an outfit doesn’t lend itself for this little switcharoo but this dress definitely does and you gotta love that!
The weather’s in that funky phase of cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon so finding pieces that work all day long can be a struggle. By now you’ve probably built a nice, trusty neutral work wardrobe of basics, but today I’m sharing easy pieces to add now to infuse a little spring into your office look that you might already have in your closet. Once the weather gets warmer my makeup gets lighter and I pull out softer lip shades and wear very minimal eye makeup. Not only will it save you time in the mornings, but you’ll have so much fun finding new pink or coral lip colors to pair with your office outfits.
This trend is nothing new but this year I’m finding such incredible pieces that feel a lot more grown up and easy to wear for every day. For such a long time I thought color equaled young, especially pastels, but when done right this soft color palette can be incredibly chic and so much fun. A beautiful lilac purse would go great with a casual denim and white top look or find a pair of easy neutral sandals for every day wear. This soft color palette is so versatile and accessories make it an easy spring trend to add to your wardrobe right away.
It wasn’t until I did a little search on Instagram for a photographer who could take photos of newborn Vivi at the hospital that I found Kristin and the idea of doing an actual maternity shoot became a reality. I don’t care for too many props or overly posed pictures because to me, there’s beauty in simplicity so when it came to finding the right photographer I searched hashtags like #ctmaternityphotographer and #ctfamilyphotographer on Instagram. I take tons of pics for this blog but maternity photos are so different and Kristin really took the time to help me find a style that felt natural to me and captured the excitement of expecting our first baby. If makeup isn’t your forte, see if your photographer often works with a makeup artist (Kristin does! ) and have your makeup done by them.
