My ex told me that black history month shouldn’t be a thing and that is something that i’ve heard continuously each year, usually by people who aren’t black. Before I can talk about what being black means to me currently, I want to share what being black used to mean to me. Imagine discovering that you’re different and that people refer and think of you as different just because your skin is a different color. Better yet, imagine being called an OREO because of this (I’m still called this, to this day) because you’re the “whitest black person they’ve ever met!

The attacks of the devil are real and are nothing to mess around with, but ya’ll our God is real too and satan ain’t but a fraction of a thing to our God! Today i was reminded of just how easy it is to be off our game ever so slightly enough for satan to plant those unsettling events of our past or the anxieties of the future into our minds, and just how easy it was to dwell in that. God doesn’t want us to feel anxious, worried or upset because of a memory of our past. You don’t have to worry about what the future brings or the things you cannot control because regardless of the situation, God already has the solution.

I didn’t want to live for family, friends or even God, the only thing i wanted to live for was my Angel. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot. I always made sure to include her in every major life change because my life simply wasn’t life without my Angel. None My Angel living her best life where she loved to be most, outside!
