One of my top Ethiopian recipes to make at home is Doro Wat Chicken Stew, a rich saucy chicken dish made with butter, wine, and spices. Therefore, in doro wat recipes, the butter is added after the onions are cooked. We prefer making shredded Doro Wat, because the “barbecue beef” consistency makes it easier to scoop up with traditional Injera bread. Lacking these standard Ethiopian ingredients, I adjusted the list of spices to incorporate the same flavors of traditional spicy chicken Doro Wat Stew, using ingredients you can find in a regular grocery store, or online.
We’ve elevated a classic Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread recipe with a pop of fresh lemon zest for a perfectly sweet, bright, and flavorful zucchini loaf The chocolate chips tamper the tartness of the lemon, and the lemon enhances the sweetness of the chocolate. Semi-sweet chocolate chips – or feel free to use milk chocolate or dark chocolate chips This recipe for homemade Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread with Lemon makes two loaves that are perfect for sharing…
I can tell you, a family-size Ethiopian “Queen’s Platter” usually consists of: • 1-2 meat stews, made of chicken, beef, or lamb (Often shredded, chopped, or even serve raw like tartare.) Our Easy Ethiopian Bread is not only quick and easy to make in any nonstick skillet, but it’s also tender, rollable, and undoubtedly sour… With absolutely no wait time. Club Soda – also to create the bubbly texture Injera at Ethiopian restaurants is made as large pizza-sized circular crepes. If you do find it, you can use it in this recipe in place of the all-purpose flour and buckwheat flour, 4 cups total.
A classic Italian-American recipe for baked chicken with potatoes, peas, white wine sauce, and lots of zesty seasonings. Having never heard of this dish, I looked it up and found that it’s an Italian-American creation invented in Chicago, that includes whole chicken pieces, potatoes, peas, and a white wine sauce. Serve the baked chicken and potatoes with a good portion of wine sauce and lemon wedges, if you like. Leftover baked chicken and potatoes can be reheated in the microwave, but for the most yummy flavor and crispy skin it’s best to bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees.
