We really recommend you to book your car trough Asco Car Hire, they were super helpful and their vehicles are top-notch. We loved staying at Lagoon Chalets in Walvis Bay, as they have great self-catering amenities and a friendly and welcoming staff. We could have spent the entire day there, but we would recommend planning at least 1 to 2 hours there if you like taking a lot of pictures like us. If you are eager to do activities, you can also visit Dune 7, just outside of Walvis Bay to watch the sunset after spending a wonderful time at the pink lakes.
The best option to reach the plane is to take a flight to Denpasar (airport Ngurah Rai) There are cheap flights from Bangkok to Denpasar, the flight time is 4 hours and a one way ticket cost you around $85. It is also possible to rent a scooter at the airport and drive by yourself don’t forget that they drive on the left side of the road. But I think 10 a 15 minutes is enough time to visit this place, and to make a few good shots for your Instagram or Facebook. But it’s for sure a really cool place to visit when you like abandoned places and sick of temples.

You could take an Air-Taxi which is way more expensive compared to the daily ferry services from Perth to Rottnest Island. There are two different ferry services the Rottnest Express Ferries which depart fromm Perth, Fremantle and North Fremantle and the Rottnest Fast Ferries which are departing from Hillarys Boat Harbour. I did the Day Tour Package from Rottnest Express where the ferry and bike hirre was included for 69$. If possible avoind holiday season since it’s a popular holiday destination fort he people from Perth.
